We ate there twice during our time in NYC. Once for lunch and once for dinner.
We can recommend the restaurant without reservation. It is one of the few diners in this part of town where you can still eat well and relatively inexpensively. The service is friendly and quick. Coffee and soft drinks are refilled free of charge. The Greek dishes are particularly recommended.

If I hadn't looked at the reviews for this place I would have walked on by to be honest. So glad I didn't judge the place for its underwhelming decor as the burger and chips were absolutely top class. The burger was cooked to perfection, and a massive portion of delicious fries too, such a tasty meal, for two it was $50 before tips, outstanding value, and all the staff there were so lovely. Highly recommend

New York diners are the best and we rarely miss an opportunity to stop at one. We were in town for a conference and came here for breakfast. We sat at the bar and service was very good. Our omelets with breakfast potatoes were filling and delicious and we would definitely try them again. It's a great diner and we definitely recommend coming here!

Visited here in May, big portions but the quality of the food was not good, service was ok asked for the bill and was told to come to the counter to pay, no itemised bill was given just a receipt with total amount on it. First day in New York so was tired and didn’t question it, on reflection having checked out prices online later I found they didn’t match with the bill. Tourists beware!!

He ordered Ruben sandwich, I ordered tuna salad sandwich. Thankfully we ordered one side of sweet potato fries to share.
His Ruben had extremely tender meat and was very tasty. The sweet potato fries were delicious and we got a huge order. The tuna salad was on regular toasted bread, not sandwich size; however the serving of tuna salad was enough for a minimum of three sandwiches. Didn’t think to snap a picture until I was done. What you see on my plate was what dropped off that I did not spoon back on. I’m stuffed and it looks as if I didn’t eat!!!! Yet I ate every bite of sandwich with plenty of tuna salad on it!

My wife and I walked to this close to Times Square American Diner on a Friday morning, waited until they opened at 7:00, and were pleased by the very friendly service. The waffle, eggs, bacon, omelette, and coffee were all good. We didn’t feel rushed at all and our water glasses and coffee mugs were continually refilled. When I finally requested the check, the $63 including taxes and tip seemed reasonable. I recommend the Times Square Diner for a traditional American breakfast.

Came to this diner a lot in 2023. Looked at the menu now to find they increased their prices even more. I understand inflation. But I don’t understand marking up every omelet to $20. The lowest priced breakfast item on the menu was $16 for just an omelet with no toppings.. haha!

New York was very crowded and all the tourist trap restaurants had long queues so we walked over towards Hell's Kitchen and went into this diner that was busy but had no queue. Wonderful breakfast and we went back twice more for an evening meal. The waiers are attentive, the food comes very promptly and the prices are very reasonable indeed compared to some places. Nice to be recognised on our third visit and to be treated with good humour.

Went here for breakfast one morning and it was good enough to go back again. First morning we sat at the counter. Our server was waiting on customers and making drinks for the restaurant, including a very good cappuccino. Service was friendly and attentive. Wife's coffee was refilled regularly and the food was served quickly. The second visit we were seated at a table and were lucky enough to get the same server. Same great service. Food portions were substantial and tasty. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.

I am a lucky person because I could have my breakfast anywhere at any cost in NYC, but I chose Times Square Diner every time. The welcoming staff, the great service, and an extensive choice of perfectly prepared and delicious food makes it the best. Nobody cooks a more perfect egg plus any other menu item than Oscar. And all the staff are happy to be there and to be serving you. I HIGHLY recommend it. You will not be disappointed. I am from Nashville, Tennessee but am in NYC very often and always visit The Times Square Diner.

I was looking for some American pancakes and these did not disappoint. They were pretty good – big and fluffy. And when I say bg, I mean ginormous. Three massive pancakes. I could barely eat a third of them. Unless I was really hungry, if I went back, I’d probably ask for one or maybe two pancakes. They came with maple syrup on the side included, and you could add bacon, eggs etc.

Hotel recommendation. PLEASE do not go here despite the reviews. Yes, it was busy and the waiter very friendly, efficient and proactive.
The food is awful, presentation is a mountain of unappetizing, plate of food. Ordered the burger and chips, the chips came cold overflowing on the plate and the worse burger ever. OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET.
Coffee lukewarm.
It is a shame.

Amazing food, so glad I read the reviews. It’s so unassuming from outside we walked right past it the first time. But the service was amazing. The portions gigantic (we should have split one dish). I had the Spinaka Pasta which was very good, tons of bacon and fresh baby spinach. But the meatloaf was just out of this world!!! They must ground their own meat. It comes with almost a full head of charred broccoli and Mac n cheese
That’s to die for. Of course we were so impressed we went back for breakfast and they didn’t disappoint. Service was fast and friendly despite it being packed. The eggs Benedict were
The best I’ve ever had. And I think it would take 3 people to finish an order or pancakes. Oh and the coffee was OMG soooo good. Recommend 10/10

We stopped in on a busy Saturday morning as we were strolling the street markets. We were delighted they had a table for us. I can’t talk enough about how friendly the hostess and staff members were. They were smiling and happy to be there. Very attentive to providing good service and friendly. The food was wonderful and probably even better than we thought as the servers were so pleasant and made everyone feel welcomed. We will definitely stop in again when we are in NYC. Keep doing what you do at the diner as there’s not many establishments that provide that warm and friendly buzz anymore. Our breakfast was delicious too!

Can’t fault it. Came here about 8 years ago on my first trip to NY and thought it would be fun to revisit. Service is very quick and waiters are attentive. Food came quickly as well and was hot, fresh and delicious! We had the Gyros Spiced Burger which is a must try - generous portions as well. 100% recommend!
