I'm a massive Chinese food fan and searched out what was supposed to be the best Chinese in Chinatown Manhattan. It took us ages to find the place (not the venues fault (just my ineptitude)) when we arrived there was a queue of 8 or so people waiting to go in. Eventually after approximately 3/4 hr wait, we got a... More

I have been going to Wo Hop....DOWNSTAIRS....for over 35 years. It is a must eat at when in Chinatown. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It never closes, try the dumplings, they never disappoint !

Just okay - there are better in China Town. Had pork egg foo young that was good but not special; hot and sour soup that was more sweet than hot and sour. Veggie lo mein, good flavor but short on the veggies (a few snow peas) and a Veggie roll that was unremarkable. Shop around.

The place is old as is the menu, quirky. But it was interesting and the food tasted fine. The service was good. It was a very pleasant evening, for what it was.

We asked a local for a recommendation to Chinese food restaurant, and he recommended this place. We hoped on the bus and headed to China town. The place is a hole in the wall restaurant but the food is amazing. The General Tso chicken was so good. Everything we ordered was good. The only thing is that they bring out... More

What a great place to eat: unique. Even though it is small and concealed it offers a nice environmente. We thought prices were good but the beer is expensive. The waiters should inform that only cash.

Wo Hop has 2 locations, one upstairs @15 Mott St, and one downstairs @ 17 Mott St. Downstairs is more for the local's who are in the service industries. they are open 24 hours a day and you will find them busy all 24 hours. No reservations. Upstairs you will find more of the families, larger tables and local's from... More

Visited NYC for three days and went here for an evening meal as it was highly recommended on trip advisor, was not disappointed. Doesn't look much from the outside, but none of the restaurants in Chinatown look very appealing. We were seated straight away, the staff are not the friendliest bunch, but this could be that they don't speak good... More

of the night, and the place is still full of people eating plates of delicious food. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Go to the downstairs restaurant, not the upstairs one. Tourists, regular customers, all ethnicities come here. Everyone loves it.

Terrible food. Cold staff. I cannot believe that I am writing this review. This is one of two Wo Hop restaurants- 15 and 17 Mott St. with same owner. We were heading to Broadway for a show and stopped by for a quick meal. I had read positive reviews. We ordered basic Cantonese dishes. The chicken and vegetables dish was... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
