Good food, cool atmosphere. Dishes are very big so bring an appetite. Service is quick. Everything looks authenticity

We had a really good experience at Wo Hop. It is a teenie and very crowded little hole in the wall or ground! So expect to wait a little to get in. Food portions are huge. So we definitely over-ordered. Had a different taste than...we are used to but it was really good and we enjoyed our meal. It was cool to eat at one of the iconic joints in town. Probably will try somewhere else next time but I’m glad we went here.More
wow i moved to florida and this is my first visit back to NYC and how i missed good New York chinese food. This place has great, delicious food - actually served with a smile. Highly recommended when in Chinatown New York
The taste is not very good, but god in relation with the price. The service is good but they bring us the bill without asking… Pushing us to leave?
A definite Chinatown classic... Last time I went to Wo Hop was in 1988. Went back a week ago with friends and the food was just as I good as I remembered. Menu is exactly what you expect from a typical Chinese restaurant. It's a...good idea to share and eat 'family' style. Portions are generous. Everything comes out as it's ready so food is hot when it arrives at the table. Fried Dumplings are a must! Chow Fun is good. Shrimp in Four Seasons dish is colossal! Crab with black bean sauce was also good, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore.More
I had quite possibly the rudest waiters I’ve ever encountered, calling me all sorts of names because I didn’t like the greasy, gross food. Will never come back and definitely do NOT recommend.
I’m rating a four instead of the five Only because I wish the menu had descriptions 😂 but as you can see in the pics, the menu is HUGE so not surprised it doesn’t. Also I was sweating in this small space, should have worn...a tank top! Otherwise, our plates were delicious! Would recommend if heading to Chinatown.More
There is a reason people wait in a line to eat here. We go to WoHop ever time we visit NYC. This trip we checked into our hotel and went straight to Chinatown after that. Wonton soup with crispy noodles. LoMein & fried Rice. We...try an additional dish each time. This visit we tried spicy beef with eggplant.More
If you want fake smiley faces and insincere service based on tips, don’t come here. The service is matter of fact, the food is outstanding and great value. We always make a point of visiting this restaurant when in NY and have never been disappointed....Got myself another tee shirt as well! Great atmosphere, good vibes and the locals eat here. If you want over the top service, go to Orlando!More
Horrible service and not worth it. Bland food, not an ounce of flavor at all for classic normal Chinese food. Very disappointed. The waiter was walking away while we tried to finish ordering. The lo mein was to me just terrible, not hot and needed...soy sauce on the table To add something to eat it. The fried rice with egg, was harder to find than Waldo, so over cooked and tasteless as Well. Didn’t order another thing and wanted to leave. Paid with cash and waiter not only did not ask if we wanted or needed change, walked away without even a thank you. Will never ever go back again. Used to be a fav. For over 20 years.More
Only white people like this basic gross place. The owners are unprofessional and rude. The food is disgusting. Would not recommend
We got lost in China Town and had to ask a local for directions. She gave them along with a recommendation fir this gem. We found it and it was fabulous. Food was great quality and so tasty The portions are huge so sharing is...good Cash only so make sure you have cash Fab We will be backMore
We have dined at Wo Hop 17, the basement restaurant, for many years and always had a great meal. We ate there on Wednesday Sept 28 for dinner around 6:00 pm. We chose to eat in the dining shed outside. The waiter quickly seated us...and took our order. We ordered chicken Lo Mein and Pork Fried Rice along with an order of fried chicken wings. This is what we typically order so we remember the days when the food tasted good. So our meal arrives and it literally had NO Flavor. No, seasoning, no salt etc. even after dumping packets of soy sauce on our dishes. The real clue though was that there was no one waiting in line like there used to be. I think that they served us warmed up leftovers. Anyway, we have written this place off. Such a shame that a great place that was even mentioned in the NY Times Sunday paper a couple weeks ago as a place as a late night place to get Chinese food after a Broadway play now closes at 10:00PM. I guess the pandemic has changed everything up and not in good way.More
Delicious! Get there for lunch and usually a bit less crowded. We have been to this restaurant about five times in the last 30 years. You cannot go wrong with any entree that you choose. Everything is delicious. The wait staff is efficient and very...accommodating. We can’t wait to go back!More
dlbemoll, we appreciate your review. Straight to the point! But once every 6 years? It better be because you don't live in New York LOL! Come again soon(er)!
Food was great, service was quick and responsive, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced yet high quality meal
Thanks for the nice words Jack!
