We stumbled into this place and wow, what a nice surprise! The food is surprisingly good and reasonably priced. Nice selection with anything including duck being a highlight.

We walked in and really enjoy the place, it has many different thing that represent Thai cuisine and culture. The food was amazing, we split all these dishes between the 5 of us at the table. You have different flavors, spices and textures. Duck was...crispy and crunchy skin yet soft and melt like butter in the inside. Just like this you’ll find many other dishes that are as good.More
After trying this place once I came back a few days later as there was not much else to choose from in the area. The first time it was passable, the next visit would be my last. I ordered the duck noodle soup which just...had crumbs of duck, not the nice slices as shown in the picture. I pointed this out to the owner who came out and told me that duck was too expensive and this was all I get. I said you will lose a customer of a few pices of duck. She said she doesn't care if she loses a customer like me. So she does not want repeat customers that tip at least 20%? Good luck.More
Good food, tasty drinks, thai beer and nice atmosphere. Good choice of noodle and rice dishes. Curry dishes are very tasty too. Recommend chocolate deserts - delicious !Highly recommend.
My second time here. As a business traveler, I regularly travel all over the US and keep a data base of Thai restaurants that I would return to. This place is on the list when staying near LaGuardia airport. The flavors for the dishes I...like are correct (not just spicy Chinese food). Unlike most Thai places across the US they have a vegetable called Kah Nah (or k’nah) otherwise known as Chinese Broccoli. Have them (any Thai restaurant) add it to any dish or sub from American Broccoli if indicated. I have a few comments for the owners if they read this. - I think the rice needs to be a little more sticky (personal opinion). - The Tom Ka Gai had excellent flavor but where were the Straw Mushrooms? And what’s with all the sliced onions? - The entrée I like is called Gai Ka Pow (Chicken wi mint leaf and chili). Great flavor but when ordering I looked the waitress in the eye and said please make it EXTREMELY hot. It came out barely a step up from mild. I think a lot of Thai restaurants in the US go mild by default so they don’t burn-out out their customers (LOL). I think Thai heat needs to be cooked in. Adding chili flakes or garlic chili sauce after is lame. If you like it HOT then you better find some way to convey that to em upon ordering. I was not successful. Don’t let my suggestions above dissuade you. These are my own nit-pickies. This place is killer!!! And I will be back again when staying near LaGuardia airport.More
I arrived to visit my friend in the neighborhood, but she wasn't home from work yet. I went about exploring the street on Northern Ave, and what I found was a plethora of Peruvian and Colombian restaurants, along with one Thai restaurant. I ordered off...the menu and to go. The service was friendly and fast, and the portions large for most big American city Thai restaurants. Recommended!More
I loved my black thai experience for dinner. I enjoyed it so much i have been back 3 times in less than 2 weeks. I loved the cozy dining in room (bout 7 tables) and the decorations were fun to look at and gave a...great feel. The curry puffs, chicken curry, papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, and thai custard were all things I have tried on my stops in and all were amazing. I give high marks for the papaya salad, as it was spicy and tasty. This is now my go to for Thai food!More
No need of driving into Manhattan to taste excellent Thai food.... just go there and enjoy ..! Excellent portions too
Whenever I feel lazy about cooking, I go to Black Thai for delicious pineapple fried rice, or drunken noodles, or sautee vegetariant duck. The restaurant has typical but lovely Thai and Buddhist decorations, small but cozy. Black Thai provides an enjoyable and different food option...in a neighborhood that is predominantly crowded by Hispanic and South American eating establishments.More
Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. An expansive menu with plenty to choose from for any taste.
Wonderful but small building. Sitting could be an issue for larger parties. Large portions of food! Variety of choices on menu.
one experience that will not forget, my daughter being a traveler sugested this place un the neighborhood we liked it very much nice ambiance
The pad thai here is delicious. Some of the other dishes I'm not a fan of. The service is very friendly. Ask they waitress what she thinks is the best selection, and she will give good advice.
This is for sure my favorite Thai restaurant. I love the fact in terms of decor it doesn't look like your typical Thai restaurant. It has very unique hip vibe to it. The Lunch specials are reasonably priced, and the dinner menu has a wide...a variety. Anything I've tried is quite yummy. The staff is always friendly. A very good addition to this neighborhood.More
Black Thai is our delivery go-to nowadays, in a neighborhood with a lot of Thai options. Sure, they're no Sripraphai. But the place itself is cute and well-decorated, and the food arrives quickly and is of consistent, reliable quality. The decor in general is a...notch above some of the bigger but more downscale places on Woodside Avenue. If you're in the Jackson Heights area and you just want some Thai, Black Thai is the best balance.More
