We came here on Saturday night for a 40th birthday celebration for my friend and we were not disappointed. They gave my buddy a huge sparkler and sang happy birthday for him. Overall the service was spot on. We had some killer empanadas, stuffed plantains with shrimp in Cuban sauce and super fresh ceviche for an appetizer. I had a... More

Food was good but not out of this world. much better than the Commercial crap they serve at Havana Central.at leat this place the food tastes fresh and not made in bulk. My wife's empanadas/pastelillos and papa release are better. Not enough seasoning in them. I guess i am spoiled. A little more expensive then i am used to but... More

Pleasantly surprised surprise to find an authentic Cuban restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. Food was very good, tasty and large portions. Service was quick and efficient. Our server, Olivia, was a sweetheart, she made sure that our celebration was special. The entrees are served with rice and black beans. Everything else is a la carte! Soft drinks and ice tea get... Came across this place on a Sunday evening. Wasn't crowded when we arrived but got very crowded fairly quickly. Mojitos are good - menu is a good cuban/latin blend of dishes. The Ropa Viejais cooked very well and served in a plantain bowl. Would have preferred a bit more of the sauce but the flavors were excellent. We also had... More

Looking for a place on a busy weekend in Manhattan, we came across Guantanamera. We were seated quickly. There was live music. The waitstaff was attentive and the food was excellent, from appetizer to dessert.

First I want to say that our waiter was phenomenal, very personable and friendly. I have a lot of family in Tampa and Miami, FL. So I've had a fair share of Cubanos, this place ranked up there with them. Only downside was the bread was burned ever so slightly to make it a bit bitter and it needed a... More

Despite going fairly early, this place was pretty crowded. It's certainly lively! Ambiance is typical Caribbean, including live music. Service was very nice. The mojitos are the real thing, best I've ever had! Ceviche was good. The Cuban pork with cumin was tasty, though a little dry. Dessert was the Cuban Torrejas which are much like French toast. The best... More

Ate here at 6:00 during xmas week. It's a somewhat small restaurant with a bar in the front and about 20 tables. It is very noisy so try and get the back tables. The food was very good. The empanadas were large and hot and came two to an order. The sea bass over beans came with 3 clams and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
