If you enjoy a diner, this may be an option for you. A variety of choices and relatively inexpensive compared to the surrounding area.

All I will say is $5.50 for a double espresso which wasn't really proper espresso. Walk either way up or down 2nd Ave for a better and cheaper one.

Visited every morning of a recent school trip. We all had a great breakfast and service was excellent. Fruit juice served as well as tea/coffee. Service was quick and the cafe itself is nice inside. Very popular with the locals also. Staff were great with the kids.

Great choice, very welcoming staff and yummy food. Recommend and very close to Holiday Inn Mid Town. Orange Juice was lovely and the French toast. Get a seat in the window.

A great traditional diner. Quick friendly service. We had a hearty traditional American breakfast and we're pleased with the food, portions, and taste. We were able to get right in - an right out. We'll be back next time we're in Turtle Bay and in the mood for American comfort food!

Standard American diner, great escape from all the chain coffee shops, so good breakfast items and daily specials. Chocolate chip pancakes are filling but delicious! Really enjoyed the French toast! Handy for breakfast if you're staying at the courtyard Marriot midtown Manhattan

After a terrible lunch at a Turkish restaurant downtown (read my previous review) I went back to my hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn and went for an explore in the other direction away from the city. I came across Morning Star and loved the look of the place- in the UK we have hardly any of these type of cafes... More

We stopped into Morning Star Cafe for breakfast before heading out for some sightseeing because it was nearby our hotel and we were delighted by our choice. The omelets were large and fluffy, the home fries were well-seasoned and yummy, the service was attentive and friendly, and the price was extremely reasonable -- especially by midtown Manhattan standards. The menu... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
