Ramen Thupka is an unpretentious small neighborhood place that knows everything noodle. From their excellent soup dumplings (made to order, so it takes time) to their hearty bone broth, the tastes are fresh and savory. I loved the miso ramen with pork, add in miso egg for a special treat. The prices are right and the service is warm and... More

We popped in here whilst on holiday. Great service. Great tasty fresh food. The restaurant is small and only seats 26-30. I would go again. We really enjoyed the food.

i visited Ramen Thukpa with a friend for an early dinner. There were some empty tables and we were quickly seated with a smile. As starter we both had a Wonton Soup. Both the broth and the dumplings tasted wonderful and the chopped scallion in the soup added a fresh side note. Roast Pork Noodle Soup was my main course.... More

Who would have expected to find Japan and Tibet together in one little hole-in-the-wall along 7th Avenue in New York City? However it happened, you'll marvel at tthe wonderful ramen combinations they have created. Ramen Thukpa is small and traditional, with an assortment of tables for two and wondeful aromas from the fully visable kitchen. At prime lunch and dinner... More

Had wonton soup and dumplings. Food was fast. The soups could have a little more flavor. Service was good. Soup dumplings were good.

Stopped in for lunch to go and tried the Vegetarian Chowmein. It was amazing, really good flavor. My daughter had the stir fried ramen and she was also very pleased. I would go back often if I lived here.

Stopped by for late lunch on the run. Good, efficient service. A little disappointed shrimp dumplings unavailable, but pork were tasty. Pork miso ramen was good too, but not overly spicy. Not a big place and a little untidy, but clean.

Inexpensive Tibetan food in a very relaxed comfortable room. My hubby and I spotted this place while walking from our vacation rental, did not know if it would be any good, but decided to give it a try. We totally enjoyed every dish we ordered. I cannot remember the names of our dishes, but given that we ate several different... More

One of the day's recommendations was the curry ramen, which was delicious. The corn was a surprise, and the curry seasoning was slightly sweet. The seaweed salad was okay. The vegetarian dumplings were a gorgeous green and beautifully presented. The service was perfectly attentive--which it more or less has to be, since the place is quite small. Filled with NYU... Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
