but this one seems to be patronized more than others I have visited, and the food seems a smidgen better. Certainly service is at the same high standard of others in New York City, and cleanliness is superb. Special Summer Sips -- very clever marketing.

I have been buying the baguette there for a long time, at least three times a month. Suddenly two days ago I bought 6 baguettes for $21.60 that I was bringing this time to a friend. I realized that the baguettes are now 2/3 the size for the same price that I paid a week ago, $3.60 which is already... More

Bakery is incredible the atmosphere is comforting and very very french country. The best part of all is one of the healthiest places to have your breakfast and lunch. All over Manhattan do yourself a favor and do not miss a chance to indulge!!

Great place for lunch, snacks or tea. Interesting menu with a fair choice of healthy plates. Although the place is consistently busy at lunch the service remains quick and attentive. There are individual tables and a large communal one. The only bothersome issue customers that settle for some time at the large table with computers, wires, chargers, coats and carriages... More

I love freshly baked croissants. I was excited to see this place while visiting NYC the weekend of 1/2/2015. My friend and I dined at this establishment for breakfast on 1/3/2015. I ordered a croissant and coffee and was very disappointed. For 10a in the morning the croissants were dry and hard. They weren't freshly baked, which is unfortunate for... More

My wife just loves this place when we are visiting a local hospital. It hits the spot no matter what time of the day. Has fresh quality food that is hard to find some times.

In a neighborhood of food carts and mostly not very enticing choices of place at which to grab a light lunch, Le Paine Quotidian is a welcome find. My husband had the open faced grilled chicken and mozzarella sandwich, which came with arugula salad in a delicious herb dressing, slices of radishes, cornichons, and a tangy tomato salsa. It was... I have been to their location in Manhattan Beach and downtown NYC and they all deliver excellent and imaginative lunches at a reasonable price. I am sure they have their off moments but I haven't encountered one yet.

We were looking for a place to cool our heels and eat lunch near the West Side Y and we found this quaint place. After reading the other reviews, perhaps they went on an off day because the service was excellent. We ordered lemonade iced tea and the roasted turkey and avocado tartine with whole grain mustard and tomato vinaigrette... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
