I went to the restaurant with family last night. Spent about $800 with no flares from dishes that came out to our table. just a small bowl of rice for $7.

Morimito's used to be one of those 'must try' restaurants in the city. However, over the years it's kinda degraded into somewhat of a run-of-the-mill celebrity chef restaurant; relying heavily on the media and tourist to drive business. that said. morimoto's does not serve the best Japanese in town, nor is it the most innovative or progressive restaurant in the... The restaurant is very modern with a nice sushi bar. We went to Morimoto during NY Restaurant Week and tried their fix menu. I ordered a roasted cod and it was so delicious. The service was good, our server took great care of our table. It is very expensive though. The hot tea was way super over priced: $8 per... More

Morimoto is a very nice Japanese restaurant located on 1sr floor of the Modern Hotel. The food here is pricey but excellent quality, coupled with great service. The decor inside is modern, and each table has a unique shape.

Had an amazing time here. Great ambience, great for drinks before dinner and amazing Japanese food. I eat Japanese food regularly but never thought sashimi can be this good! We had the seafood toban yaki which is like a Japanese cioppino. One of the best dishes I have tasted in my life. Also amazing is the toro tartare. I have... More

I love Morimoto - great service, a great sake selection, great sushi, and great non-sushi dishes as well. The only downside is just how easy it is to drop $200. And quickly.

So it was my 50th birthday and I decided to have dinner here on an open night during my trip. I've eaten around the world and this was one of the best dinners I've ever had. I was traveling alone and they seated me at a prime spot at the sushi bar. Super easy to get to near Chelsea Market... More

As a huge japanese food lover, sushi especially, I've really taken lengths to explore as many recommended establishments as I can. It really does come down to food, ambience and service. Morimoto hits all three sections consistently, which is why I always make this my spot for special occasions. I first came here two years ago and have come back... More

We visited Morimoto NYC in 2008, when it was still a newish restaurant and Morimoto himself was around often. We had the pleasure of meeting him and taking a picture with him that time. The food was delicious then, and it is still now. We recently visited again to celebrate our 14 year anniversary. The staff here is courteous without... More
