Not sure how they accomplish so much with so little space. Delicious brunch! The Huevos Rancheros are 👌. Coffee 😍Mimosas ✔️. All is good at Mud! Definitely is the hangout so if you come with more than two, you could be waiting a while.

First of all, we stopped by for lunch, not brunch, on a Tuesday afternoon. We wanted to go have a picnic at nearby Tompkins square park, so we grabbed something to go. The place is small, but cozy, and all of the employees are young, nice guys. It took me some time to decide because so many items include avocado,... More

Even though we arrived with many suitcases and asked for a table for six people, we were seated and the luggage was stoved away. So good food and very good service. Will definetly go there again. Thank you for your help.

Being a Melbournian we enjoy good coffee, which was hard to come by in NY, however we found a good batch here and they were generous with their size! Also ate breakfast which was delicious (and also a generous size). Vibe was also great with good service.

I had a tasty banana pancake and some juice. Both were good without being particularly notable. The ambiance was not to my taste but may appeal to some.

Very good spot with a nice ambiance! Their hot chocolate is super good (and I am picky when we are speaking about chocolate), their granola yogurt is great and their pancake is huge and awesome! I enjoyed the place ... They just need to be a bit faster when it's about serving!

There's an HSBC on 2nd (catty corner from the restaurant) if you need an ATM. We had a light, sparkling rose ($38), a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches (one with tomato soup) and a B.A.T. and we were good to go. Nice relaxing in the very back, unhurried, lovely.

This place is a hole in the wall, perfect for the younger crowd. Good food and friendly service, and lots of positive energy. Be aware and prepared, cash only.

We went twice for breakfast and largely avoided the queues by turning up early on weekdays (c 9am). The banana pancake is the best in manhattan we had and we tried most of the top rated places. Huevos rancheros were also light and tasty. The French toast were also amazing and felt healthy: sourdough bread and almonds, a great combination.... More

Good spot for a variety of brunch options. The coffee is very good but they charge for refills. The cup is big and gets cold during the meal--$2 for a warm up??? The omelette was delicious though and the huge banana pancake was divine!

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
