The Spotted Pig is a New York institution but not worth the trip for those from out of town. You can get a better burger elsewhere. The decor is kitschy with knick knacks on every available surface, making it cosy but not aesthetically pleasing.

Great burger, even better fries, great music & a great pint of Bronx IPA, what's not to like? Staff very friendly & service great. Loved it.

The waitress we got was very attentive and very nice! The food was good quality but not to die for or anything. My husband had the burger with the famous shoe string fries (very large portion, so we shared the fries), and spotted pig beer. I had the special, Summer Gazpacho, which was light and fresh with just enough tang... More

It's a must. You must go to The Potted Pig while in New York! Their signature burger with blue cheese is the best! And also the fries! If you go in the winter you must try the Banoffe Pie! It's pure heaven!

Good burgers and wine, but thats about it. Nothing special in terms of recepie, ambiance (me being European, the setting could be that of a local bistro) or services.

If you want a cool & cosy bustling bar / restaurant, with great food, then this is the place ! It has a good London pub vibe with quality beers & good music, (not surprising with the owner & chefs background). The menu is grown up & varied, but we came for the burgers, which were FAB ! Not cheap, but... More

Small and cozy restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food, quite expensive but food was great with 'special' items such as gazpacho which was fantastic

We visited the Spotted Pig for dinner expecting a wait time. The person who greeted us at the door explained that it would be about 1hr 30mins wait. We told him that would be fine and he seated us at the high stools near the window for drinks and bar snacks in the meantime. The server came along and we... More

Stopped in on a rainy Saturday with friends. Started with Moscow Mules (which were amazing) while waiting for a table. We all ordered the burger with roquefort blue cheese & shoestring fries. Hands down, one of the best burgers I've ever had. The shoestring fries (mouth watering) have rosemary and garlic. The atmosphere is cute and quirky and always packed.

Went for late lunch with my hubby after the 911 memorial, although it was a long walk for us the experience was well worth it. The food was light and fresh, the oysters were fresh and tasty, service was great and people at restaurant itself were friendly and gave us advice on local venues.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
