NYC gives you access to cuisines from litterally all over the world, and Cuba is no exception. We came to this restaurant for dinner, as it was advised by both TA and our guide. Havana central is near Times Square, the interior is decorated Caribbean-style, with bright colors, palms and a live-music band. The band is really loud, too much... More

Every time I come to THE City I eat at Havana Central. If I have a long layover at one of the NY airports, I come into Manhattan to eat there. The best Cuban food around. The classics Cuban is out of this word as are the mojitos!!! The food is wonderful.

Our waiter was excellent. Great food and EXCELLENT service. Drinks were good and food was out of this world. We tried the mango salmon - and several pork dishes. The avocado salad was crispy and delicious. We didn't have a reservation and were going to the theatre. They seated us right away and got us in and out by 7:45.... More

It's like dining in Old world Cuba. Great food, served promptly with really fun wait staff. The Cuban pulled pork was simply wonderful and their breads were out of this world. I wish there was one closer to where I live ( 100 miles from our home on Eastern Long Island) I would eat their often. Go here for great... More

I really thought I would like this place. I love Spanish and Mexican food, so I jumped at the chance to try Cuban. The restaurant was big and noisy and I like the decor. Our waiter was jolly and pretty helpful at the beginning. The mojitos were great. Then it all went down hill. The appetizer sampler plate was all... More

OK I guess. Music was fine. Close to Times Square. But our food was pretty dry. I wouldnt rush to go back but if you want to hear some latin music and have a drink then it is fine

After a long day, and before taking in an off-Broadway show, this was a lively, pleasant respite. Upbeat (and not overpowering) music, exceptionally courteous and attentive staff, and authentic tastes. We could converse without having to shout, enjoyed the tapas, and both entrees were savory. Only wish we could have tried a dessert or two.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
