We were visiting Manhattan for a week which is an annual tradition. We try to find new hidden gems on each of our visits, specifically something family-owned, something boutique. After all, supporting small business is very important. What a fantastic surprise to find Ñaño! Everything...from the exuberant and attentive service to the delicious food was fantastic. We sat outside on their tiny patio and watched all the action on 10th Avenue. This was a first time we had true Ecuadorian food and it was awesome. If you are a fan of pork, this place does it right and keeps it so tender yet incredibly crispy. The flavors are rich, savory and mouth-watering. I highly recommend the Fritada as well as the Maduros Lampreados. You can't go wrong with this place and by all means, follow the server's suggestions, you won't be disappointed.More

spring, summer, fall, winter -- you can taste all the different dishes until you get through the menu. It's small but very homey! Outdoor heated area since 2020.

I love this place. I’ve been several times with an Ecuadorian friend who says the food is completely authentic. Tiny little place but is also now serving outside. The staff is really great.

You can easily miss this tiny restaurant and that would be your loss. The food is excellent. We were not familiar with Ecuadorian food and this was a superb introduction. The small menu has a surprising variety of very good dishes. Our group tried four...different entrees and they were all very good.More

My wife and I were in New York for our wedding anniversary and wanted to try some food that we had never experienced before and boy did we pick something special. For our appetizers we had the Sanduches de Chancho (pork sliders) and Bolon (not...sure of all the ingredients). Both were absolutely delicious. Our main course of Lomito Salteado ( beef dish) and Sudado Mixto (a seafood stew) both of which were fantastic. The owner who was also the waiter was extremely personable and definitely cared about our experience. When in New York next we will be sure to stop by for another great meal. Make sure you make reservations since the place is small but c9mfortable.More

Going to this Ecuadorian restaurant was a treat. I had a very tasty seafood ceviche with plantain chips. It was beautifully presented and delightful to eat. My son enjoyed a tangy Seco de pollo with the flavor of an Ecuadorian fruit.

I ate here July 6 with my spouse on a date night. What a wonderful surprise. It's an intimate space, total of maybe 16 seats across 6 tables, 3 two tops and 3 three-to four tops. A brick wall on one side, family photos from...Ecuador and creative light fixtures crafted from wine bottles give the place a romantic charm. The proprietor is warm and enhances the meal with his suggestions and attentiveness. And the food and drink are both unusual and delicious. For appetizers we had the Yapingachos, two potato patties filled with cheese and covered with a peanut butter sauce.Sounds strange, I know--it was delicious! Also had Encocado de Camaron, 3 plantain cups filled with coconut and shrimp stew. Yum! One entree was Arroz con Pollo, chicken with yellow fried rice, carrots, Andean corn, cilantro, scallions, sweet plantains and a fried egg. The other entree was Seco de Pollo, chicken stewed in Naranjilla and cilantro, with yellow rice. sweet plantains & avocado. Naranilla is a sour fruit grown on the north of Ecuador. Flavor similar to kiwi or passion fruit. We also had three of their signature cocktails, each made with an Ecuadorian sugar cane alcohol. The one with passion fruit was the home run winner, but the others were also quite tasty. This little gem of a restaurant succeeds in transporting you to a different, romantic place and time, with delicious food and drink. We plan to be back again and again.More

Eating With Ziggy recommended this place and it was a gem. The dumpling was mind blowing, and not just for its size and the complexity of the mains filled out tummies and taste buds. Even the Ecuadorian beer was good... will return on other visits.
