Great food and lovely staff, they went through the menu with us and recommended things to eat and were great with one of our party who had allergies. Excellent place.

My mother and I went to Koi on our last night in Midtown. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and was walking distance from our hotel. The food was fabulous! We loved everything we ordered. The only inconvenience was the noise and the service. Our server barely spoke a word to us, probably because he could barely hear us. The noise... More

I came here for a business lunch, and it was a definite see and be seen place. I felt a little underdressed being a woman without high heels on, but the service was great and the fish was fresh. I had the miso soup, edamame to start. Then we shared a few items, the crispy tuna rice and the spicy... More

Decent Japanese-fusion restaurant located in Bryant park Hotel. It's a good place for having a dinner... but if you are staying in the hotel and take dinner here more than once, it can be too repetitive (as it's the only restaurant in the hotel).... Their menu needs more depth...and less california/philadelphia rolls (it's suposed to be a Japanese restaurant...). It... More

the food here is very good however, it was definitely better when it first opened... the atmosphere is also very good. The only thing that bothers me is the service... they are constantly hovering over you and watching your every move... the service was intrusive to the point where I had to even say something. The bus boys would watch... More

Had a good dinner her on New Year's Eve - sushi was very heavy, though, and despite the festive atmosphere, not sure the value is there for this one. I don't mind paying for a fine dining experience - but service was so-so - not as attentive as I'd expect, and a lot of pressure to order more. Clearly the... More

I like the flavors of Japanese food, especially of fresh raw fish. I tend to go to restaurants where the food is authentic. This wasn't one of them. Service was good but it wasn't the right restaurant for us.

Nice ambiance, the xmas market in front of it makes it to a nice experience. Good menu selection, the salads are really nice. Very helpful for sugar-free eating people.

We visited Koi as a family as I've visited many times, and unfortunately it was "ok" but not great. The "Tuna on Crispy Rice" had stale rice, the "Blacked Cod" was (very) over-cooked and more like rice than fish, etc. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the great food that it was long ago.

Description
Rich earth tones of orange, red and brown impart warmth to the cool and tranquil space. Thin tapestries of translucent rose fabric are embellished with flame motifs and suspended from the ceiling, creating a separate seating area perfect for a light bite near the large front windows. Famous for its unique and mouth-watering interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Upscale Japanese fare is given a jolt of new life through an innovative use of ingredients, resulting in refreshing and exciting flavor combinations. Crispy Rice with Spice Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna. Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crab meat is wrapped in a thin rice paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection. Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
