We happened to arrive late for lunch, a few mn before the kitchen had to close. The way we were welcome was exemplary. And then the food was a delicious surprise. Refined , tasteful, nicely presented. Of course it costs between 45 and 65$ / person (without wines) to have lunch at Koi, but you got a real value for... More

I was alone and sat at the sushi bar. Everything I ordered was good though the salmon skin hand roll was very different than what I have had everywhere else I go. I was squeezed in to my solo seat with the people to my left and right sitting sideways with their backs to my sides and that was uncomfortable... More

This is an amazing restaurant next to bryant park. This restaurant could make for a romantic night depending on what night you go. I have been twice now. The first time it wasn't noisy at all but, the second time I went with my manager it was very noisy and hard to talk. However, I was very impressed with the... More

When you order gluten free the manager will come to your table and assure you the staff is aware and taking care of your every need. It make you feel very safe eating gluten free here. I was there twice this week. I enjoyed the Northern Lights Rolls, edamame and mixed vegetable with the lovely Craggy Ridge Sauvignon Blanc. Will... More

Clearly Koi is a popular place right now and we enjoyed our meal but probably wouldn't come back. My main issue was how quickly the food was served - almost so quickly that you think they have already prepared it before you ordered almost and this led to at least one one error when we ordered 4 pieces of nigiri... My sister frequently visits NYC on business and told my family that this is her favorite sushi restaurant. On a recent visit to NYC, we decided to see what the fuss was about. Koi offers delicious, fresh sushi that is probably the best I've ever had, and I eat a lot of sushi. Can't wait to come back to the... More

Great vibe, and really top-notch service. The sushi was good, but not quite on par with the Koi in Los Angeles. Very convenient if you are staying in the hotel (Bryant Park Hotel).

We were welcomed with great service right from the start. In fact, the service was the main attribute of this restaurant. Once it came to food, the sushi was very good. We ordered a couple rolls, and they were amazing. Later on, the main courses came. I ordered the glazed black cod. The taste of the cod was a bit... More

This was my first visit to Koi. The pear martini started the meal with sushi tacos and lobster tacos. The sushi is so fresh and incredible. Big shout out to our waiter Eric. He was excellent!

Description
Rich earth tones of orange, red and brown impart warmth to the cool and tranquil space. Thin tapestries of translucent rose fabric are embellished with flame motifs and suspended from the ceiling, creating a separate seating area perfect for a light bite near the large front windows. Famous for its unique and mouth-watering interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Upscale Japanese fare is given a jolt of new life through an innovative use of ingredients, resulting in refreshing and exciting flavor combinations. Crispy Rice with Spice Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna. Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crab meat is wrapped in a thin rice paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection. Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
