Stopped off here as we were looking for somewhere decent to eat whilst in Times Square area. We were seated near the back of the restaurant away from the piano, which i have to say wasn't the best - I couldn't hear my self think....Not the best entertainment for me, but others seemed to enjoy it. The ambience in the restaurant was good, and the waiters were pleasant and polite. We ordered the lasagne, calamari and ravioli al pomodorro, all pleasant enough but just looked and felt a bit stodgy. Reasonably priced. Not fine dining - I would say family cooking. Good place for pre or post theatre meal.More

What a great restaurant. We went to go see the book of Mormon and that totally sucked, but this restaurant before hand was to die for. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Enjoy!! I suspect the manager runs a tight ship, and that's why there...is so many good reviews. Very good. Keep it up.More

Boy, am I glad I got to try Da Marino before the big coronavirus lockdown -- twice! This place takes me back to the kind of Italian food I grew up with in Jersey. But I'm not giving it 5 stars just for the food,...which I'd describe as elevated East Coast Italian. The staff is also great, starting with our server Nive, who recommended the chocolate pasta with vodka sauce and shrimp -- not something I would dare order on my own! The bartenders Dana and Ana are amazing; strong drinks and friendly smiles. Ana is particularly funny, in a special kind of way. There's a pianist at night and he was surprisingly good. It seems like everyone in here except Ana can play an instrument or sing, including the manager Tom, who not only belts a mean Sinatra or Tom Jones but is also possessed with prodigious knowledge of entertainment history. Yeah, it's that kinda place. Everyone seems to really care about their guests and each other. Da Marino is a great spot for a pre- or post-show meal and, of course, a drink or three. I'd say don't hesitate to chat up Tom at the bar but believe me, he'll find you first!More

We found this gem during our mini trip to experience Times Square. Our prior reservations were canceled due to unforeseen circumstances and it allowed us to visit this establishment. We were greeted by Tom upon arrival who was fun friendly and personable. We were seated...near the piano for live entertainment which made it it more of a dining experience for us all. We were able to sing along with the tunes and the piano player was interactive with us throughout our dinner. The food was good portions and the taste was fresh and flavorful a true Italian taste. The prices were very reasonable for the portions you got along with the exceptional service you receive. I will add this to my go to list when I come back again, and would highly recommend checking out this little taste of Italy in the heart of Times Square.More

Booked here before a show we had nearby on a recent trip to the city. The staff were friendly and efficient throughout our visit. The restaurant was packed and yet the level of service and quality of food never wavered. There is a lot of...choice in the menu and the food comes out quickly and when the waitress took our order she asked if we were seeing a show and what time it started. This extra awareness of this just added into that great service given throughout our visit. Will visit again next time we are in the city!More

We went there on a Saturday night before seeing a Broadway Musical. The place was super packed, but everyone was extremely friendly. We were a party of 7 with our little one getting sick that evening. The food was great, the pasta dishes were generous...and delicious. The staff was super friendly, even though they had to squeeze their way through an over-crowed restaurant, Tom, the manager made sure everyone felt great, even our sick little girl. Can not say enough good things about this place - don't miss it when you are in the city - simply greatMore

This cozy restaurant is a must visit in NYC! Walking up to the entrance I started to feel an excitement build up as I walked down the few steps to the front door. A very charming entrance leads into a long wooden bar. I enjoyed...a few cocktails with Anna as I listened to the wonderful piano player playing hit after hit! The ambiance was delicious. As I sip on my cocktail I couldn’t help but notice a regular come and go here and there. The charming photos on the wall depict the famous people who have walked through the very door I just walked through, and still do by all accounts. A perfect place to perhaps catch a glimpse of someone “Big”. We were a party of 3. Every table is a perfect table. We sat at a lovely table near the piano. The soft glow of the lights and the smooth notes from the piano made my heart happy. We had the best server. He was the most attentive and very personable. We ordered a few Shrimp Cocktails and for entrees the Sea Bass, Chicken Parmesan and Ossobucco. The Shrimp Cockail... (bites first finger knuckle between teeth)... I don’t eat shrimp. It’s never been my jam. I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail on a whim. Sooooo glad I did!! The sauce was absolutely delicious and the shrimp were cold, crisp and very large. The General Manager Tommie sent out a sample of their off menu Chocolate Fettuccini. Holy Moley!!!! Fuggetaboutit! Kudos to marrying chocolate and fettuccini. It’s not sweet as you would expect. It’s decadent. Our Entrees arrive. The beautiful Sea Bass was filleted table side with such precision. The Chicken Parmesan was bigger than expected. The Ossobucco..... The Osso....fu$&ing bucco. All was seasoned to perfection and received at just the right temperature. The entire meal from start to finish was probably the best meal I have had in a very long time! Go and visit Tommie at Da Marino. Absorb the sight, sounds, smells and taste of what you’ll find to be the best Italian restaurant that you’ve ever had the pleasure to dine at. Reservations encouraged. Thank you Tommie for making it the best night of our trip to NYC!More

We were trying to make a choice between several Italian option available in Midtown, we have picked Da Marino and we’re not overwhelmed at all. The service was courteous and food was brought out fast - no issues whatsoever with that. The food itself was...really average. The best thing was a plate of fried calamari for an appetizer. The salad, ravioli with tomato & basil sauce and home made ravioli with mushrooms didn’t excite at all. The fact that we were hungry helped, but most probably we’ll opt for a different place next time.More
