I don't know how anyone can try Nakazawa and think that is anything less than extraordinary. I don't live in NY and travel to the Big Apple once a year. With the plethora of amazing cuisine, I never dine at the same place each year...More

I was taken to this restaurant without knowing anything about it for a first date. The table that we were given was tucked in a corner overlooking a window to the street. We opted for the omakase option, and could not believe how much incredible...More

My wife and I walked in and had dinner in the restaurants casual lounge area as we did not have reservation for the sushi bar and there is limited seating. Still, in the lounge the service provided by Diego was very good and attentive throughout...More

I went here with my wife for our anniversary. We were seated in the dining area, and each ordered the 7-plate (21-piece) omakase for $120 each. There's a premium 9-plate omakase for more $$$, but the one we had was plenty of food and very...More

First- I have never been to Japan so maybe I am not qualified to judge exactly how good this is. But it is definitely the best sushi I ever had. We had the Omakase menu at the bar. You can only make reservations for two...More

We had places at the bar and did enjoy the ride through 20 servings. There is also a restaurant part. The sushi is top notch and so is the show. The sushi chef truly makes sure that you are part of the experience and everything...More

For a special treat while visiting my son and daughter in law in NYC recently we had lunch at this top rate place. It’s only omakase (sp). That is chef’s choice. And all I can say is the chef chose well. It was organised by...More

Fantastic sushi, like you’ve never tasted it before. Fatty tuna, hay smoked salmon, Japanese sea urchin, no matter what’s on the tasting menu it’s beyond good. Has been here many times and will come back. Good value Sake pairing too

Sushi Nakazawa is one of the best omakase experience in the US. For lunch omakase, I highly recommend the sushi bar with the highly trained sushi chefs. The fish was mainly from Japan with some features from US and Europe. For $150, the omakase comes...More

We live in SF, which has a vibrant omakase scene. We haven’t explored it much in NY. Within 4 days of this dinner we also ate at Sushi Yasuda and Nobu. By its pricing, Nakazawa would compete against the best places in SF. By comparison...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

No strict dress code, more of an "implied" dress code. Wear what you like, but you may feel uncomfortable if you're dressed very casually because most of the other diners will be dressed quite smartly.
