This is by far one of my absolute favorite steak places on the planet. The food is always perfect and the wait staff is on top of everything. This is an icon of great food.

Service was superb and the food was good. Expensive for what it was but a good experience nonetheless. The porterhouse was a bit fatty but the burger was done exactly as we'd asked for. Make a reservation for the weekend as it was very busy but a great atmosphere.

Ate at the 'outside' part of the restaurant to see some of the street life, and wasn't disappointed. Apart from the characters walking by, we were surprised when some large SUV's turned up and out jumped a whole heap of paparazzi's following Angeline Jolie (dont know about Brad). So..entertainment with an excellent steak and great service. Food, as usual, excellent,... More

Good Steakhouse but I've had better. Tables are close together so if you don't mind brushing shoulders with the next couple... It's NYC and quarters are tight, I get it but come on. In all seriousness, the steak et al was good but for the price I can have 10 steaks cooked as good or better on my Big Green... More

If you don't like steak, don't go here. $40 for fillet steak plus sides. Steak cooked to perfection. Busy and loud spot. If you want quiet restaurant for romantic meal, don't go. Cheesecake was also delicious!

We treated ourselves to a nice meal here. Theres not very much variety on the menu but nonetheless a fair choice. We decided to have pork chops, which were very nice, but expensive. We also had the steak, very big and thick but a lot of fat on a couple of them. Service was good and the ambience is nice,... More

I was in NYC to meet a new business associate and he suggested that we go to S&W for dinner. I give the steak and the atmosphere both 5 stars.

Not your usual tourist place at lunch, try it if you like beef.A high end steak house with good service, well known for business lunches.

One of America's most successful restaurants, this New York steakhouse opened in 1977 and has been a hit ever since.

It is one of the most trafficked restaurants in New York City and among the most celebrated steakhouses in the world. Specializing in fresh seafood and lobster and assorted steaks and chops, Smith & Wollensky is well recognized for its healthy portions, seasoned service staff and pop Americana ambience.

The painted wood exterior is dark forest green trim on sparkling white, with latticework trim. The elegant interior has turn-of-the-century appeal and design elements including shining brass, dark wood accents and polished wood floors.

Adjacent to Smith & Wollensky's is Wollensky's Grill. The Grill (entrance on 49th St) is open from 11:30AM till 2:00AM but does not accept reservations.
