My husband and I thought it would be a great experience to have afternoon on our 10 year wedding anniversary and on our last day in NYC. We arrived early and we waited in Plaza Hotel Lobby Bar. It was starting off great. Once it was time for our reservation we were seated, and ordered. Our teas came out first... More

Took my wife and daughter to The Palm Court in the Plaza Hotel and could not have had a better experience. The service was impeccable the surroundings magnificent and you could be forgiven if you thought you had just been transported back to a 30's movie scene. The food was exceptional including scones, sandwiches and petite fours. There was more... More

I had high expectations for the place! The place was really lavish and didn't disappoint! Unfortunately the food was so so. We had the set of $70 & $110. We had expected more from the food. Basically, you are paying to sit in the room to dine. My baby was crying and the staff told me to calm the baby down... More

our family always comes here every yr when we stay at The Plaza...my wife likes tradition and my daughter enjoys "Tea with Eloise." Personally...I think spending over $75 / person for tea and PBJ sandwiches is quite ludicrous...but I'm a team player and my daughter doesn't read Trip Advisor...

Our server, Fariz was amazing. He made the kids feel at ease and was extremely accommodating. Overall the Palm Court is a must, we went for our Mother's birthday and she loved it. Very kid friendly place, the Eloise is a must for kids and the Hibiscus tea is delightful. Thank you Fariz for making our Mother's Day Tea so... More

While walking to Central Park, my friend and I stopped in to see the famous Plaza Hotel. We stopped for drinks in the Palm Court and Heather made us the best Cosmos ever! We really enjoyed talking to her and soaking up the ambience in this lush setting!

Went to afternoon tea with my wife on our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a neat experience, like no other I have had. I felt a bit like a fish out of water at first, but the staff was great and very helpful.

We booked our Christmas dinner here as The Plaza is iconic and a place we needed to visit. The Palm Court is beautiful and the service was fantastic. The food however was not quite what we envisaged and was quite average. When I order a steak I expect a grilled piece of meat not a slice of meat from a... More

Well. I had muuuuuch bigger expectations from this place. I completely agree to pay little more for nice place, but the food should be nice enough too. $12 "freshly squeezed " orange juice was definitely not freshly squeezed. Breakfast itself was nice, NOT fantastic. On the top of it all plates were cold! Spent $200 , had a very mediocre... More

I was surprised at how filling it was. Everything was lovely. We all tried each other's teas and enjoyed all the little delectable sandwiches, petit four and scones. The "New Yorker" was $70.00 per person. Rather pricey but worth doing, at least once.

Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
