We returned to this eclectic not-really-Chinese restaurant just off Fifth Ave. for an early dinner last evening. Again we ordered a variety of small plates, all of them different from those we ate when we were last here several months ago. All were OK, but none stood out for flavor as we were hoping. My wife, who has almost never... More

My hubby and I stopped in for drinks while waiting to go to dinner. Our bartender was cool, my hubby had vodka and cranberry and I had rum and coke. We also had a beer. The restaurant seem nice I guess we'll return to have dinner another night. We saw different food coming out and everything smelled really good. Their... More

I agree with another reviewer that this restaurant is neither Chinese nor Asian of any kind. If that's what you're looking for I would try somewhere else. It's more like typical American food with some (and I do mean some) Asian spices and an Asian description on the menu. To say the appetizers were ordinary is to give them credit,... More

Had late dinner here on a Thursday with a friend and everything was perfect. Great ambience yet casual, outstanding service and inspiring flavors. It's an excellent option for couples too. We tried six different fish options and all of them were incredible. For dessert, we had the salted caramel soufflé which was to die for too. They also had an... More

This is fusion but I'm not sure of what. Room is lovely and the food well presented. We were 2 people dining and ordered 4 dishes which all came at once. Duck fried rice was tasty but dry. The Lobster rolls are the highlight, however all of the raw seafood (salmon and crab) was covered in mayo so there was... More

We have frequented China Grill in the past for restaurant week, primarily for dinner. But after not patronizing the establishment for a few years, we decided to go there and see if things have changed. Given the menu is the same for restaurant week lunch and dinner, definitely go for lunch if you can and save 13 dollars per person.... More

Wide selection of very tasty far eastern food, which is best to be shared as single dishes are large. Waiting staff readily available to assist you in making your choice. Not a typical Chinese restaurant but more of an upmarket Chinese /Japanese /far eastern fusion restaurant in a nicely decorated place. All four of us were impressed by quality, taste... More

Always a place we visit for a meal when we are in New York. Our usual favorites are the duck salad and duck fried rice. Drunken chicken and Shaking beef are good choices. Love the banana in a box caramel dessert!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
