I live in New York City and this the fourth time I have invited family and friends to dine with me at the Modern. It has been at least six months since my last visit. On each previous occasion, I have been impressed by the excellent food preparation, presentation and service. I should preface my comments by saying that I... More

I just had my birthday dinner at the Modern and it was unforgettable! I have been wanting to eat here for a long time and it did not disappoint. It truly is an experience every course was so rich and delicious! The staff, the presentation, every glass, plate and utensil has been thought out. We had a view of the... More

We had such a pleasant dinner here. We chose the most course tasting menu, could it have been 6 or 8 courses. Each course was perfectly prepared -- favorites were the caviar and egg appetizer and the duck breast main course. Service was perfect. This is a no-tip establishment.

Service, atmosphere, food all exceptional. Flavours were all finely balanced and everything was beautifully presented. We also appreciated the service inclusive pricing policy

There is no other restaurant quite like the Modern. Set snuggled in the MOMA with a view out to the Calder in the forecourt. Oh the food is extraordinary. Set course of 3 or 6 dishes ( 3 is more than enough) lobster, duck etc. the wine list and sommelier is worth interrogating. The half bottles and wine by the... More

Lunched at The Modern for the first time and absolutely loved it! Menu matches the pieces found in the museum - original, high quality (and expensive) lol, but seriously, cocktails were well balanced, dishes were delicious, service was personalized and friendly, very nice dinning room. I highly recommend it and would definitely return.

Having two Michelin stars made this a top destination for us. The food was very, very good, but not phenomenal. We have been to other Michelin star restaurants that we enjoyed more. Also, the service here was just a little too slow, especially with water refills.

I realise that The Modern is the darling of New York epicureans. Numerous foodie blogs suggest that this establishment is a must for anyone wishing to sample the best in high-end New York cuisine. Some suggest that it is better than the city’s three Michelin star big hitters, such as Eleven Madison Park et al. In my experience, it falls... More

This was my second time at The Modern. This time I chose to seat at the less formal area of the restaurante, where you can choose from the a la carte menu instead of the prix fix. The food was amazingly delicious, exact same quality as the formal dining area, and service is absolutely impeccable. AND we get to see... More

This was one of the best tasting lunches I ever had!! I ordered an appetizer (a salad) which was very well prepared and to follow as the main dish I ordered the duck. What a pleasure! And they can easily accommodate gluten free options. And the wine (I ordered a Malbec) was very special! Service was impeccable. They recently instituted... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
