First, the compliments: we were late through no fault of our own (locked out of our hotel due to a bomb scare), and the restaurant was very gracious about holding our reservation. Also, the bar room (there is a more formal room on the other side of our dining room) is very beautiful - large and open with an amazing,... More

We were surprised by a very positive change of the menu. Everything was out of the charts. Food ambience and service. We had the pizza the foie grass, the duck and the scallops. Also an excellent italian wine. Outstanding!!

I'm a great fan of Danny Meyer's restaurants and was very much looking forward to lunch at The Modern with several friends. Unfortunately, while the food very nicely prepared the portions are far too spare. The service, which Danny Meyer is known for, was lacking. In short, it was entirely too expensive for what you get and a huge disappointment... More

When going to the Modern of course you already know that your going to fall in love with the space being connected to the Modern Museum and you are if you are in the main dining room. While waiting to be seated for dinner me and my girlfriend lounged at the bar and the atmosphere was busy and loud and... More

My wife and I visited The Modern while celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food was great, as there wasn't a single item of food that we disliked. The service was outstanding. In particular, I have to give a shout out to Perla, as she played a huge role in making our experience at The Modern fantastic! During the meal, the... More

The Modern is definitely a hot spot. Modernity as the name announces is brought to the table together with locally made bread (you just cannot stop eating). Wide range of choices for a selected and well balance proposition following classic techniques. Friendly service and the view of the Moma sculptures make the journey as tasteful as scenic

The food is very elegant and delicate, the tastes are different in a good way, the atmosphere is cozy , the staff works very hard and sympathy, the price is quite high, but certainly worth the experience , dinner is served only through tasting menu and the restaurant does not accept tips. Reservations are required

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
