as a change from bagels, my partner and i decided to try out something new for our last morning in NYC. i was so excited to experience a proper new york pancake place. first of all, they don't offer any type of cow's milk alternatives (soy / almond mile etc.) and they only give milk in those tiny little cartons... We stopped in at Lindys "world famous cheesecake" to try the cheesecake of course. When it came I couldn't believe the portion size - could share between two adults. The service was really slow, which wasn't that bad as we'd been walking about all day so the rest was good although I think if we'd have walked out without paying... More

I always would eat here at least one time on my visits to New York City. I stopped in during my recent visit to NYC and discovered that it wasn't what I was expecting. I ate there during dinner time and it was not busy at all. The food was good but it just wasn't the same as it used... More

It's New York so expect to pay a lot of money for food, but I will say I was scared of the cost of the food but when they brought it out I ate half a sandwich and I was full. Outstanding food portions.

My partner and I went here a couple of mornings for breakfast. It was fine for all we wanted. A bit pricey for breakfast but convenient to our hotel.

I gave it a 4 to balance the food and the experience. Good was fine, nothing great nothing bad, very slow Service. But a great place for people watching while you eat. Only ate breakfast here and was really expensive for what you got but then again it is in the center of Manhatten.

It looked inviting when we were walking by so we decided to eat here for dinner. Overpriced, even for nyc standards, and food was just "ok". Service was quick, but that's really the only positive thing I can recall. My husband and I aren't difficult to please by any means, but Lindy's missed the mark for us. Won't be back.

The last time I visited Lindy's was about seven years ago. I always get their cheesecake which, in the past, was very good. Upon entering the restaurant, no one was available to take my to go order. I saw an older woman near the bar and told her that I wanted to order a slice of cherry cheesecake. Before she... More

Many friends of my friends had visited here and recommended we went. Food was average, I had pancakes which was a fair size and my son and partner had cooked breakfast which was satisfactory. Staff was quite abrupt. This did make us laugh though and we saw the funny side of it, but not very welcoming as expected. A pricey... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
