This is your basic neighborhood diner on the upper east side. Food is pretty good with large portions, as you've come to expect in places like this.

We were wandering along Madison Ave looking for somewhere to eat when we found Three Guys restaurant, it has a diner feel about it and very welcoming staff. We ordered an Asian salad and a Chop salad, both were huge but delicious. It was not expensive and I would recommend this restaurant.

Walking along Madison Avenue among the exclusive stores, it is hard to image a humble diner located among the glitz. The Three Guys has an extensive menu, and a welcoming environment. The wine list is surprising. The food was fresh and well prepared. The service was also fast and attentive. The clientele was generational and this is also appealing

Good, generous, clean, and affordable. We enjoyed our meal a lot, and warmly recommend the place. 46 $ for two included a beer each, plus a de luxe hamburger served with fresh salad, tomatoes, French fries, etc. , plus coffee.

Popped in for a quick lunch one day. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and a beer. The Reuben was decent - though not the best - and the beer was cold. What stood out for me though - and more than made up for the pretty average sandwich experience - was that when I went to pay, armed only with... More

I went for breakfast. Usual unhealthy fare - everything with home fries, etc. I had 2 poached eggs which were cooked well. Toast was toasted. Service was okay. If you want a classic diner this is it but nothing special.

Recently visited. Ordered a bagel, cream cheese, coffee and small juice. Cost with tip: Close to $20. The toasted bagel was cold when delivered; it was delivered without the cream cheese I ordered; took forever to get the cream cheese. I felt ripped off. Would never return.

$16 for a bagel with cream cheese, coffee and small juice. Toasted bagel got cold while waiting for cream cheese which the waiter forgot. Tasteless bagel. Rip off.

I love 3 Guys, I eat here with my kids at least once a week. The staff are friendly, treat us well, and let my kids behave like kids. To me, that is worth every penny! That said, given the diner's high rent location, the food is very expensive for what it is (think: $23 green salads, $11 tuna sandwich,... More

So, if you are staying at the Carlyle, and are running out of money to eat.. Order in! Three Guys is close by and has a decent enough menu and they are very accommodating.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
