Amazing food and quant location. Quiet and great service! Will be back when in New York. Lasagna and fettuccini was made with homemade pasta and you could taste it.

Food was very good. It's very overpriced. Bottled water cost $10. Service was extremely slow even though we were only 1 of 2 tables. There was a Hindu man holding court at the other table. The staff was extremely attentive to his table. 2 meals, bottled water and coffee was $60. The waiter was miffed when we wouldn't order dessert.

I have been to Viva Italia for several years during my visits. Good service, good to great food and most importantly not pricey. Strongly recommend for good value for money

There were several put offs from the get-go. They wanted to seat us near the door. Too drafty and not inviting. Then, when we just indicated we were only ordering a glass of wine and salads, the waiter seemed miffed! I think he muttered something under his breath. Very pouty! Later we ordered a bowl of soup. Minestrone. No taste.... More

I did not expect to be served the best lamb chops I have ever had in an Italian restaurant in New York. They were listed on the specials menu; they were served on a bed of spinach and the chef cooked them to perfection - pink and succulent. My wife loved her delicious salad and we both thoroughly enjoyed glasses... More

Not an upscale flashy joint but old fashioned quality. Great service, very good food and reasonable prices for NYC. $80 for 2 of us, plus tips so we were very happy. Not an easy location to find good eating places. So very happy we gave Via Italia a try.

I dined alone. The wait staff was courteous and helpful but there were some initial glitches which we should perhaps discuss first. There was a bottle of still water on the table. I ordered a bottle of sparkling. The waiter took my order only to return later to tell me "we are out of sparkling water tonight." House wine was... More

Somewhat attentive service, waiters don't listen to what you say. Waited quite a while for our lunch, with very few others in the dining room.

To ensure i don't waste anyone's time i will admit that i although i am a foodie i am by no means an Italian connoisseur. Typically the only meal i eat at an Italian restaurant is a pizza however the other 2 guests in my party wanted to eat here after a late night up the Top of the Rock.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
