Simple bistro french food should be easy but this place seems like it is more of an amateur restaurant . Not cheap and really not worth waiting time and money there

Everything delicious. Outdoor sitting. Terrine de campagne first class. Did not have space for steak tartare which was extra ordinnaire. My sister had a Salade Niçoise which had maybe half kilo of tuna fish on. Immaculate service with our lovely bilingual french young lady. Highly recommended if you are at Madison Avenue.

Just walking up Madison on a hot morning on our way to the Frick, we spotted this place. We're so glad we did. A find-dining,tablecloth spot - outstanding cuisine.

Stopped in after a trip to The Frick - small bistro seemed family owned. The young waiter reminded us of a young Baryshnikov. The bread wad to die for (nobody makes breads like the French) The French Onion Soup was wonderful. tons of onions, cheese nice and browned. VERY hot though, took most of the meal to eat it!! The... We stopped here on our way from Midtown to the Met. Wow what a great find. The atmosphere is nice casual bistro like. The service is authentic French but once they warm up to you they are really nice. The Halibut dish is probably one of the best Halibut dishes I have ever had. It was as beautiful as a... More

Had a late lunch here last weekend after wandering Madison Avenue, enjoying some of the summer sales. Typical French bistro - tables close together, lots of atmosphere. Shared the steak au poivre with frites - which was delicious! A lovely glass of wine to go with it, coffee at the end... hit the spot. Service was good, very attentive. Obviously... More

We enjoyed a Saturday lunch outside, 5 people, on a sidewalk table in front of the restaurant. We shared a number of high quality and tasty salads, and most of us went for the steak au poivre with frites, which did not disappoint at all. The pepper sauce was incredibly tasty and most of us didn't leave a drop. One... More

Service was attentive, mules where plentiful+prepared very well However the frites where limp & greasy!!!! If I go back again , i'd specify the... More

After a long day in the city I stopped by for a late dinner around 9 PM. The place was still packed, with people outside waiting for tables. They had a few tables set up outside and little overhead heating units were just enough for me to comfortable during a cool evening at one of the outside tables, joining three... More

This restaurant was on a list of convenient places to eat given to me by The Frick Museum. The food was good, however, the service was appalling. After delivering the food, we were totally ignored. When we finally caught the waiter's attention (and this is an extremely small restaurant) I asked for a refill on my glass of iced tea.... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
