Nice, understated, quiet spot for a quick sandwich and drink in the village. No frills, but good. Service, food, location, and price are all in line.

Very disappointed! I ordered the dinner special of pork loin and roasted potatoes... Check out the pic... Look like roasted potatoes to you?!?! Really... I would have gotten the burger if I was going to get fries.... I even said something to the waiter.. He showed me the menu... It said wedged roasted potatoes..... Ummmmm ... Not fries... Was expecting... More

Sherri you are absoltely correct but the fault here is mine not the waiters. We had just changed the dinner specials (includes choice of entree, 8 oz glass of wine and coffee $17) and apparently I did not proof read the menu thoroughly. It SHOULD have said french fries and I apologize for the error. Thank you for bringing it... More

Stopped for dinner and had one of their nightly specials. Roast Pork, potato, salad and glass of wine for $17.99! Food was good and sitting outdoors on a great night was fun. I've eaten here many times over the years and it is worth visiting.

Joseph, thanks for being a friend to us here! It sounds like you've figured out how to take full advantage of the specials, so we hope to see you many more times over the summer for some more of those. Until then, Steve and Mauricio More

The food is just 'OK' -- but the prices and value are very good. Watch for the specials on the board outside the door. Yes -- the service is a little slow, but it is fun to sit in the window and watch the world go by. On 7th Av at Christopher St just north of the subway station. Recommended.

We wandered in on a Saturday as we were extremely hungry. We tried to get seats in other restaurants in the neighborhood but the waiting time was too long at all of them. We should have waited to say the least. While Riviera may be a decent spot for bar food and beers on a football Sunday, the quality of... More

Matt, we're both sorry to hear you had a less-than-stellar experience here last Saturday. We work hard to maintain our atmosphere whether it's a gameday or not, and the same goes for our food. We're not sure where we went wrong as we make sure to only use the freshest ingredients we can get our hands on, and we certainly... More

I've been dining here for years.. Tend to order the same thing once I have determined what I like.. Cobb salad with extra bacon and salad dressing..started out amazing..Then extra bacon became less than the regular portion & salad dressing containers became small.. So I stopped ordering it.. This Sat. I decided to order a chicken burrito and asked for... More

Hank, first of all, I want to thank you for being a guest of ours for so many years and sincerely apologize for your recent experience. But I am puzzled. Whatever transpired between you and the kitchen they did remake the burrito from scratch. The salad dressing containers have been the same size for years and there is no limit... More

Stopped here on way to subway. Lunch special was great value & delicious. Service was a little slow, but we were not in a hurry.

Dropped in with friends on our way back from the High line. As a tourist I liked their selection of beers. Food was decent, but the atmosphere was really lively. May have been to do with their endless (90 minutes worth) supply of mimosa. Our group ended up talking to a larger group and we felt very welcomed. Good fun,... More

My family and I called in for a drink and cake. Service was very good and drinks and food were reasonably prices. Our girls had some good cake. I'd imagine it was very good of an evening.

Very eclectic crowd with the common interest being Boston sports. Good burgers and a great Sunday brunch for patriots games. Beer and drink specials for the games. A good time unless the Sox or Pats lose, and that's not the Riviera's fault

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
