Ate here twice during a stay in the neighborhood. We were underwhelmed by the oysters but the fish dishes were well prepared and the bar serves a generous pour on the drinks. Dessert menu is limited. Some interesting Italian white wines on the list. Pleasant bistro-like atmosphere; crowded at cocktail hour but seems to calm down shortly afterwards, when it... More

Since Docks has been around for approx 100 yrs that's what our waiter Doug asked. The place is bright w/mirrors reflecting all throughout. Seating is close but there is a happy, party like atmosphere which tends to make strangers talk. All seafood is phenomenal. There are other entries but why? Raw bar & standards are all u expect and more.... More

Foods are great and selection of beverage is reasonable. Nice Wine selections. Mussels for appetizer is recommended. Steamed Lobster is very good but do not go over 3lbs size. Larger Lobsters tend to have weak flavor. Ask for Window Side Table.

Close to Grand Central so handily located. Good atmosphere despite large room and quite high ceiling. Not cheap, but then this is NYC. Quick and efficient service.

We visited for dinner at 8.30pm on the 4th October. The restaurant was full and had a good ambiance. Our waiter explained that the Salmon from the specials menu had run out. Myself and my wife ordered the Sea Bass. After five minutes our waiter returned to the table and told us they had no Sea Bass left. I ordered... More

I confess I don't know the restaurant's provenance or business structure and history. So, while it may, in fact, be a single restaurant in Manhattan it, unfortunately, has the look and warmth of a chain-managed establishment. The restaurant is large and our Monday evening dinner at 7pm revealed only about 40% occupancy. I suspect they're busier (and more bustling) at... More

Our family friends took my wife and I to their favorite seafood restaurant near Grand Central Station. The food was wonderful and fresh, the service was outstanding and the prices reasonable. I had the curried giant shrimp and my wife had the lobster risotto, both were great. They have a good wine list, a very good variety of seafood with... More

Anyone who reads my TA reviews knows that, if anything, if lean on the side of being positive and constructive about my dining experiences. So, it's pretty rare when I encounter a situation that is seriously deficient in some way. Such was the case at Docks during weekend Brunch. The big deficiency here is service....or shall I say lack thereof.... More

Really the top seafood fare of the city. I have eaten at Dock's since it was established as a restaurant many, many decades ago as a Seafood restaurant at a different location on the upper west side around 91st street. It was, then, and still remains fabulous -- no matter what you order. It is aways fresh caught, delectable, and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
