We had been her for dinner a while ago, but I wanted to try it for lunch. My wife and I had visited The Morgan Library that morning, so the location was perfect. The service was warm, and the food was first rate. The wine list showed that someone had put a lot of thought into finding good wines at... More

First time visit. Stopped in for a late lunch after a business meeting nearby. Warm and somewhat rustic atmosphere. Reflective of a true French bistro. Tables are a bit close together so if crowded could see how it would be noisy. French onion soup was excellent. On the other hand, the cassoulet (special of the day) was disappointing, mostly beans... More

Clients who live around the corner hosted me at their "local". After some drinks I settled on the Hanger Steak and was delighted at the taste and presentation. The bread was delicious and the attention by the staff was frequent, but not intrusive. I can see why they visit this restaurant often. I'd like to come back too.

Met for holiday lunch at the Madison Bistro. The location was picked because it's very near The Morgan Library that we were visiting. Been here before for just drinks. The decor is nice. Wait staff good. The pre fix lunch is excellent. I am not a French food lover, so I just had the chicken salad... very good & I... More

We had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. One of us had duck breast, which was the best fowl he'd ever had. The other had filet of dorade, also delicious. The portions were perfectly sized and the food was expertly prepared. We both had soup--French onion and cauliflower, both excellent. The desserts--creme brûlée and chocolate profiteroles--were scrumptious. The staff were... More

Madison Bistro was near our hotel. We didn't book but it wasn't busy the Sunday night we went. Food and service were excellent and we had a most enjoyable evening there. Its expensive but worth it for the experience.

I was visiting NYC and staying at the Morgan Hotel. On a rainy day, I invited 2 friends I hadn't seen i a while to lunch and we went to the Madison Bistro. I requested a quiet corner, and I wasn't disappointed. We were seated downstairs, in a charming room. Our food was delicious, the service was excellent and we... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
