We (unfortunately) discovered this restaurant on our last day. Really good food and a lovely setting. It feels like you are stepping back in time. The restaurant is situated opposite Grand Central Station. Well worth a visit.

Sometimes you need to find a quiet place for a burger or salad and a beer or whatever - it's not always easy in New York. This place opposite grand central sorted us out. We'd been before for brunch but after walking round the station food hall for 30 mins and deciding it was too grubby, we came back to... More

Out of time interior which seems to have been there forever but has it charms with a subdue light, wood and riveted iron beams Shrimp cocktail: i would prefer the pink sauce but there were big and adequately if not ultimately fresh Chicken Pie: filling and simple tasty Overall a classic experience, not extraordinary but solid

I'd wanted to do the clichéd tourist thing in New York and have the authentic Sunday brunch experience. We were in Grand Central anyway, so it made sense to come here. Atmospheric dining area and good service. I had a very generous portion of eggs Benedict and my wife had the avocado toast. My only gripe is with the music;... More

Went for breakfast. We both ordered the corn beef hash and eggs, very disappointing. Unfriendly and disinterested waiter, had to repeatedly ask for water and forget trying to get a second coffee. Maybe for the New Yorkers, not tourists!

The sign outside says "the busiest breakfast spot in NYC". When you see the vibrancy of the restaurant and overhear the deal making, it is no wonder this is such a great experience. The breakfast for two was $40 but the menu is broad and tasty. Across from GCT, one great spot to eat and people watch.

Came here for breakfast before a Yankees game. Ordered the pancakes because I read online that they were amazing. For $16 I was expecting a little more than 3 thin pancakes. They were good, don't get my wrong, but they are quite overpriced. I guess that it what I get for eating at a place directly across from Grand Central.... More

My daughter and I had Saturday brunch before leaving NYC. The brunch menu is extensive, although not particularly innovative, except for the excellent vegetarian selection of poached eggs on lentils and quinoa. The service was friendly and efficient; our waiter gave us the story behind my brunch dish (the owner is vegetarian and wanted to offer a good vegetarian brunch... More

We visited here twice ( having previously been a couple of years ago) food is great and inexpensive . Our first visit the waiter was brilliant with the kids and really helpful - second visit the waitress was terrible - we waited ages to be served ( so long that we nearly left) the food came out wrong - we... Great location near to Grand Central Terminal for onward travel. Breakfast in a busy place. Waiter service very good and accommodating to our breakfast requests. Varied menu

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
