Otto is a Mario Batali restaurant and you feel the ego seeping through. Could only seat our party of 8 when EVERYONE was there (what if there had been a traffic jam or delayed flight?). Could only take our table order all at one time (apps and mains). All a bit odd. My meal was superb, though: mushroom pizza with... More

I didn't know this was Mario's restaurant when we reserved a table for lunch on a Sunday in May when it was recommended to us by my cousin. In looking at the map to get there on Google, of course it came up that it was Mario's restaurant. I found the pizza to be very good, the crust was just... More

I went to Otto on a Sunday evening w friends. It was pretty busy and very loud, but the food and service was very good. The menu is a little overwhelming - so many choices, but there's also a short specials menu. There were 6 of us, so we shared appetizers of delicious figs, prosciutto, beans in sauce, and arugula... We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from someone who once lived close by. We ordered a "Four Cheese Pizza" and a "Carbonara" mains and two deserts. We were disappointed with all four, the pizza was so greasy that we had to soak up the grease with napkins. The picture on here is exactly it. The carbonara was over... More

For some context, we are from California and love to visit NYC. Whenever we go, we always make sure to stop by Otto's since it has become our favorite restaurant and feels like home. What everyone else seems to neglect in their reviews is that this is one of Mario Bartoli's restaurants. He actually lives across the way and visits... More

There are time limits on the table so don't come here for a relaxing meal, you will be rushed and pretty much told to leave. Due to the time limit and trouble booking, you'd expect the food to be sensational. It isn't. I wouldn't be surprised if the pizza was of the frozen variety from a local supermarket. The only... If you love thin crust (and I mean thin), Otto's has got to be somewhere near the top! It's that good folks. We also shared several appetizers (meats and cheeses), Olives and a cauliflower to name a few. Very good. Top it off with a great wine list and you can't go wrong here. Just a heads up, it's very... My teen son and I both got pizzas and enjoyed them very much. Service was timely and attentive. We were seated right away (it's a large restaurant).

I first went to the enoteca and restaurant not long after it opened. Over the years, nothing has really changed except the quality of wines by the glass has dropped. The restaurant menu has gone a bit stale and is no longer very innovative. If you are going to name a pizza after your restaurant and one item, ie, Otto... More

Food disappointing, pricey, not very tasty and luckily too little. The espresso tasted like instant. The 4 'waiters' serving us couldn't wait to get us out and new customers in. I was still chewing when the last plate was removed. Check then came immediately, without being asked for. There must be hundreds of places better than this trap.
