I remember when this first opened and it was impossible to get in. The food is delicious, and the service was efficient and good. Loud and lively, down to earth crowd, helpful sommelier with a wine list that covers all budgets. For New York City, the prices were more than reasonable. I was surprised for a Mario Batali restaurant. Easily... More

We went on a Weds. night. It was packed which might impact the over cooked pizza. It definitely impacted the noise level. (Every one shouting to be heard over everyone shouting.) But the pricey, weak drinks are on the business. And the pizza crust was more matzoh than chew.

Found this place as we were staying in a hotel on the next street. It was buzzing at 6pm on a Monday as we arrived. Got a good table with an excellent waiter who helps us through the wine choices. As I was uncertain which wine I would like he offered me a taste of two! Top marks for that....... More

I ate here while visiting local friends soon after it opened. It was bustling with energy. Today, although no longer the center of attention and less trendy, it is still a remarkable Mario Batali eatery. Amazingly, the pizza and pasta prices are among the lowest in the area. Batali's strong but balanced flavors still dominate. The wines by the glass... More

We have eaten at this consistently good restaurant several times and would definitely return. Service, food and ambience was all positive.

Went to Otto the other night with a friend who eats there a lot. Our waiter was excellent at helping me find exactly the right glass of wine. We ordered a margharita pizza and a spinach pasta with a pork bolognese sauce. Both were excellent. Loved the sauce on the pizza.

Met a friend here for dinner our last night and was not disappointed. Cool vibe, extensive wine selection and they even had Downeast Cider, which is hard to find outside Boston. A great NYC experience.

Great Atmosphere, although seating left a little to be desired. Had to get up a couple of times because our table "blocked in" another table. Overall, the meal was fantastic. Quattro Formaggi was outstanding..The sauce made the pie. Definitely will visit again.

I travel to NY every 2-3 weeks and Otto is always my first stop right after landing and checking-in at the hotel. In a city with so many restaurants, I always find it a waste to visit a place more than once, but Otto is my exception. I go there for a drink before a meal at another place, or... More

Our third visit on the occasion of my wife's birthday. Otto is just one of our favorite places to eat anywhere, anytime. The reason: simple great cooking, prime fresh ingredients and very reasonable prices. We had a selection of verdure which were delicious (I recommend the Rabe and mushrooms). We asked the chef to make a 9 cheese selected plate... More
