Wonderful Meal

Ended up here for dinner one evening. Delicious food, nice ambiance. The service was a bit overbearing. There might have been one server for every patron, and they did invade our personal space enough for us to comment to each other about it. I'd still go back for the food, though.

Been here with a friend that came here many years ago. The food was still great, nice wine list and friendly staff. Do try the olive dessert!

I love Otto. I can't visit New York without stopping here. It gets noisy, especially for dinner. I prefer it for lunch, when it is light and bright. Some tables are quieter than others, so ask if you care, and get there when they first open or very late. Come with 4-6 people (reservation recommended) and order lots of antipasti,... More

upon walking in the door I was almost immediately put off by two twenty somethings hanging out at the front as supposed hosts who refused to sit 4 of us until the other 2 in our party arrived also even tho we had a reservation made on open table and there were ample tables to be had. The bar has... More

This is a great restaurant so close to Washington Park. Lovely atmosphere with a fun vibe. Tried four different pizzas and every one was delish! The salted caramel gelato is to die for. Staff was friendly and very attentive. They never rushed us. Several people in our party were from out of town and were very impressed with this restaurant.

Loved the food! I and my dining companions had such a fabulous meal, I cannot wait to return to NYC so I can eat here again. Chef Dan and his staff are superb! Bar is really crowded and loud, but that's expected in such a hopping, energetic place. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

We visited Otto based upon hearing several good reviews. Our reservation was for 8:45, we did not get seated until 9:30. It did take about 15 minutes to have our orders taken for wine, appetizers and main course. Wine and appetizers came about 15 minutes later. Main course came another 30 minutes after our appetizers were finished. Hello, anybody in... More

The only reason this review gets 2 stars is because service was good. Otherwise, I don't know what's going on here. I've been in the past and it was great, but things have slipped. We were three for lunch and every dish was a disappointment or downright inedible. The bad: puttanesca sauce was thick and more onion rather than brine;... More

Being a sea-food lover, I dined on a selection of "Feast of the Seven Fishes", that I hoped that it would be a feast, indeed. I ordered the entire selection, all seven, sharing with a friend. Shrimp, Octopus, cod and other fish, looked wonderful on menu, but I must say, they tasted a bit dull, or too "lemony", something was... More

Pizzas, pastas and gelati are outstanding. The Olive Oil Gelato is quite special. I owned a wine store on Madison Ave for ten years and I felt like a kid in a candy store when I saw the wine list. The limited beer selections are top notch also. Family-friendly atmosphere yet perfectly suited for a small party like ours (artists... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
