Service was excellent and food outstanding. Specials were fantastic and it was a wonderful place to chat and enjoy food and companion. Wine selection very good and portions perfect. They made sure everything was perfect.

Recommended because of its proximity to our hotel, we were most impressed with the authentic Italian food! Staff was knowledgeable and personable. Ambiance was wonderful, and I have already recommended it to friends who have also loved it. Just one of the best in NYC.

Nice little almost "neighborhood gem" in Midtown east Service was great and the food was terrific Prices normal/typical for midtown Would definitely go there again I had the spinach gnocci with truffle cream sauce - yum! Others in our party had pork tenderloin, and chicken Salads were good too.

I was lucky enough to find this opposite my hotel during New York special menu fortnight. For $42 I had a three course meal to die for. Seafood bisque, delicate and succulent, linguine with white clams perfectly al dente and a resounding creme caramel with undertone of orange. A good glass of robust Italuan red, a shot of expresso with... More

Our servers, Roberto and Fernando, were attentive, knowledgeable, prompt, inobtrusive while eating and all around wonderful> We shared a tre-colore salad ($17) which was very fresh with a light lemon oil dressing. A modest portion for $17.... One of us had Pice pasta with a red sauce. Large portion. Fresh and home made. Well cooked. Chicken Montebello was beautifully prepared... More

We stopped in for lunch on Friday. This is a truly Italian place where lunch is not to be hurried. It was some of the finest Italian food I have had in the last year. Really first-rate.

A gem. Chicken Valdostana special outstanding. Tiramisu - simply the best I've ever had. Make sure you have a dollop of whipped cream with it. Eclipses any dessert I've ever had.

Came here for a business lunch last week -- 1st time visiting. A colleague ordered the white truffle pasta as a starter app for the table, and OH MY -- had me at hello. It was delicious, and I wanted to lick the plate. But it's a classy joint, so I refrained. I ordered the Pollo Portabello which was actually... More

So many times when you go to the city for work you end up at a restaurant repeople treat you as though you were a throwaway client. Maybe this is true since the chances are they're never going to see you again or maybe only see you in a couple years. But the staff at Montebello made us feel like... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
