Huge, tasty portions for cheap. That sums up Zoralie's food options. Can't go wrong here, from the chicken to the pork, to the mofongo. Portions are huge. though most of the room may be taken by rice. However, as an example, $7 for a huge piece of chicken, a few plantains, more than enough rice, and some grilled onions, is... More

We stayed at an apartment next door to the restaurant, and ate here our first night in NYC. They have a small eat-in area, but their bread and butter is clearly carry out. Food was amazing, folks working there were really cool, offering some help to out of owners who had never eaten Dominican before. We picked a selection of... More

This is a hole in the wall type of place with only a few places to sit. But the food is good. It's no secret as during our lunch, people kept walking in for their food order. We had 3 different types of mofongo (pork/pernil, chicken, and pork chops). The larger orders (for only $12) comes with the mofono, a... More

We wanted some cheap eats before we went to the theater. Just a few tables but the line was constant between take out customers and those sitting at tables. We split the Saturday Chicken special with pinto beans and rice, along with an avocado salad and sweet plantains and a bottle of water for $17.50. The Staff was very attentive... More

I have to have mofongo when I stay in NY. This small restaurant did not disappoint. They even whipped up my other favorite - Concon. I didn't do a lot of talking as my SO is fluent. They also ended up giving me a small plate of bacalao which was just okay but my SO said it tasted just like... More

I work around the area and come to Hell's Kitchen area for lunch quite often. This is a great deal. The baked chicken is really good. You can choose white meat or red meat. It comes with rice, beans, and plantain, all for $7. The mofongo is ok, not exactly my thing. Even though I like plantain a lot, a... More

After the Circle Line Harbor Lights tour, we searched for a place to eat dinner in the neighborhood (which is pretty close to Times Square). My husband found this little Dominican place, just a tiny basement place with a few tables, at 449 West 51st Street. We walked right by it the first time around, it is that small. But... More

Whike staying next door to Zoralie's we brought the most delicious meal back to the apartment for an early lunch before heading out into the city. Delicious, quick, friendly atmosphere and easy on the pocket book. Incredible carry out business they've got going.

This is a tiny restaurant with a steady carry-out business...10 seats for dine in, buffet with daily specials but also cooked to order. Tried Mofongo for the first time and found the deep fried plantain mashed and then covered with a "light gravy" for moisture was tasty. Husband had a delicious roasted pork sandwich ($6.50) and I had a Cuban... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
