I've been going here for 20 years - it's in my 'hood - and the food is consistently dellicious! Love their beans and rice, any of their chicken dishes, but principally the Chicken Ipanema….I often order in, and the food arrives promptly and well, aromatically! Not to mention DELICIOUS!

This was a last-minute after theater idea and we wasn't sure what to expect. When we arrived, the host asked about our reservation and our table was prepared and ready (even though we made it online 15 minutes prior). The food was amazing and in generous portions. We all had enough for snacks later on in the day. My only... More

We came to this small place for dinner - smell was good and visitors looks common, not tourists. We ask for the advice which fish they can recommend and suggestion was Brazilian way roasted fish. We fish was really perfect and the rise and beans match this fish well. The selection of wine was not big, but we take Argentinian... More

Fake Brazilian Food. I had a terrible experience in this restaurant. Our server Maria wasn't friendly at all which is okay but when the food came - a steak with rice and beans. The beans are CANNED seasoned with garlic. The rice is dry, the bananas were not ripe. My wife had fried fish and it was extremely salted. After... More

After a night of drinks at Therapy and Industry on 52nd we wandered over to 9th Avenue looking for a late night restaurant. We stumbled on Rice 'n' Beans. At first we were hesitant because there were only two people inside the restaurant but it was late and we were hungry. We ordered several orders of the Brazilian Empanadas (Chicken,... More

Very different from the big food establishments. Very small with limited seating but the meal was lovely and the staff were very friendly.

We stumbled across this hidden gem going to another restaurant the day before and it was so busy so we looked on trip advisor and it had pretty good reviews, when we went there the food was faultless and the food was so tasty and the service was very efficient. Would recommend this to anyone! Really good Brazilian restaurant! You... More

This is the place where Brazilians come to eat REAL Brazilian food. It is small, cozy, it has amazing food, drinks and desserts - and it feels and tastes like HOME! Last night we had the honor to close the restaurant for a private party - the service was fantastic, all of my guests were completely overwhelmed. Chef Carlos comes... More

The place is small, but cozy, with about 10 small tables which can be moved together for larger groups. The staff is pleasant, the food good, prices reasonable. I had a large glass of very tasty sangria, a delicious salad and sauted chicken with rice and beans. Portions were generous & filling, so much so that i had no room... More

It's a tiny little "hole in the wall" resturant with about 10-12 seats. What it lacks in size in makes up in food. The food is excellent, service is solid and prices are fair for NYC. However, if you are looking for a late dinner, after 9:15 pm, don't bother coming here. They will not seat anyone after 9:30pm as... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
