Authentic, friendly, and very good. Visited our granddaughter in the City. Rush hour overwhelmed us Texas folks, so after hitting a happy hour we found ourselves to be 800ft (thanks to TA) and toddled in. We ordered 3 different plates and were offered lemon liqueur as a treat. Waiter very friendly, loved the purple hair! Remember, authentic, so don't expect... More

Excellent food. Excellent staff Great place to relax to great music and enjoy your food. I would recommend this place to everyone. I am a vegan and couldn't decide what I want, the waiter was patient and kind. My mother is a picky eater and she ordered the ravioli lobster and mumbled...this is good.. I laughed... That meant a lot.... More

Via Della Pace is a great little spot. Authentic Italian fair. Knowledgable experienced staff. It is a nice intimate dining room where a table of 2 can enjoy a romantic dinner or 10 friends can share bottles of wine and apps while watching the game. If you are looking for a great Italian experience in NYC, look no further

Great food with plenty of choices on the menu and very reasonable prices but it's cash only. The service was good and they made some great cocktails. No parking lots in the area but we got street parking. Fun lively atmosphere but it's not very large so a reservation is needed.

Cool little place, some seating outside. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced, cash only, be prepared. Lots of Italian dish options, I had the spaghetti & clams, it was good. Nice atmosphere for a quick meal and to relax, very laid back.

The loveliest quiet brunch here on Sunday, for a steal! Arrived at 11am,and were one of the first to be seated. Service was quick, and their staff was friendly and patient. Brunch menu: for just $11 you get your choice of gourmet Italian coffee, entree, bread & olives, and sides of salad and potatoes. My date ordered perfectly poached smoked salmon eggs... More

We ate there for the second time while in town for a wedding recently. We love it; it has a nice ambiance, good food, friendly staff, a good wine list which isn't terribly over-priced. The only caveat is that it is a CASH ONLY establishment, so be prepared. It is a popular spot, and pretty small, so book ahead. We'll... More

Had a great lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. Fun and funky inside with a soul soundtrack playing in the background. Friendly and attentive service. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was delicious! Surprising wine list with good values to be had. Cash only as others have noted, but there's an ATM on site. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially... More

I met up here with a friend who lives in NYC. He told me that it was a restaurant that his italian friends ate it so it trusts that it's good. Everything that we ordered was truly delicious! I felt like the environment was really cozy and homey. The only thing that they could improve on was informing you earlier... More

For our weekend in New York my wife and I were looking for a real Italian restaurant. We find it with trip advisor and dined here. Really nice place, great service and excellent Italian food. A must for any visit to New York.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
