We have had great experiences at Ben’s in Boca. The food is consistently great and service is better than great (ask for Anita!). So, when in Manhattan, I decided to try the Ben’s on 38th Street. I was truly disappointed. The service was really terrible. Slow at best and the place was empty! The server I had could not resist... More

It's OK if you don't want to go downtown to Katz's. The chicken soup was rather weak and the CB on rye was OK. I can't believe that combo sandwiches could cost as much but they are huge. Waiter service was good and you won't leave hungry.

My wife and I visited Ben's and had the corned beef and sadly it was just "meh" - kind of bland and blah. This would place would not be on my list to visit again.

So the four of us were hungry and we found our way to Ben's. I ordered one of the Boston hotdog. Served on a brioche hotdog roll. It was topped with baked beans and onions. I was able to pick a side. I chose a latke. The latke was large. It was kind of rubbery and chewy. The taste was... More

This is one of the best restaurants I have been in, in my life. When you arrive, you shown to your table, given free water with ice, free pickled gherkins and free coleslaw, while you read the menu to decide what you want to eat. On our first visit we decided to have the Cabbage Roll That Made Ben's Famous.... More

The Deli is a favourite of ours. When we visit New York each year we make a point of visiting the Deli. The sandwiches are very nice and huge. They always service pickled cucumbers and coleslaw on the table. It is packed at lunch times might have to wait for a table. Will visit again next time we are in... More

Samuel was super nice, personal and friendly. Great pickles. Slaw okay and don't know about the pastrami. Seems like it was cut against the grain which makes it gritty l. Was still good maybe it's just the way they do it. Lots of great energy.

My best friend is Jewish, so she was so incredibly excited to hear that our tour group was going to be going to an authentic Jewish deli. She has been to Jewish delis before, while this was my first visit to a Jewish deli. I thought that the food was average as did my friend - however, she said that... More

It has been awhile since we had a great corned beef sandwich and we were not disappointed. The meat was tender not overly salty and portions were fair. The young and old pickles were very good and brought back memories of my mothers homemade pickles. Cool atmosphere and service not bad even though I needed to remind the waitress three... More

Bens never disappoints. Good ol sole food. Had the pastrami and it was great. Wouldn't say this is the best deli, but it is reliable and good value. Location was prime near Penn Station Enjoy!

Description
To some, delicatessen is something you put between two slices of bread. To me, it's a calling. I am committed to preserving the traditional cuisine of my Eastern European heritage, amidst all that's required to operate a modern restaurant. This is our pledge, from the Ben's family to you: Fresh food, freshly prepared and courteously served in a clean, well-maintained restaurant faithfully observing the Kosher dietary laws. I urge you to bring anything less to my personal attention by calling 1-888-344-BENS or filling out my "Ask Ronnie" form and submitting it with your questions or comments. Your complete satisfaction is our goal. Any concerns will receive my prompt attention. - Ronnie Dragoon - Owner.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
