I called into John's Pizzeria on an afternoon to see what it was like as we could see it from our hotel window. The guys at the desk were very helpful and said it would be busy on the night (Wednesday) but if I left my name and said what time they would hold a table back for me. The... More

Great pizza! No reservations and they won't seat everyone until your party has arrived. The line forms outside which seems to confuse everyone, but the host goes in order and has it all together. Friendly staff, pizza came out quickly despite how packed it was. Even saw Emma Watson waiting in line. Highly recommend!

My kids love the plain cheese pizza here. It is thin, crispy and delicious. One of the best tasting pizzas in NYC.

Friendly staff and excellent pizza. My two boys loved it (the food but also the no-frills environment).

Excellent pizzas and we always go there when we walk in the Bleecker street area. The pizzas are large and great if you are hungry. The staff are quick to serve and polite. There is usually a bit of a wait on busy meal times. We have been lucky at times to sit by the window. Love it! Quirky and... More

After the Broadway show this was a great place to eat. Just over the road from the theatre on 44th st. Good salad, very tasty pink lemonade and a lovely pizza. We mixed the toppings- anchovy, mushroom and peppers, yummy!

I don't get the tourist hype or see why anyone would wait in line here when you can grab a slice at Joe's (the best slice around), Bleecker Street Pizza (nonna is next best slice), or Keste (Neapolitan style sit down whole pie). I live a couple of blocks away and go to the above places in that order. I... More

My wife and I were brought by cousins to try out one of their favorite pizza places in New York City. We were impressed with the pizza and the friendly service. It was a Monday night and they were full. Had a plain cheese pizza and a combination pizza. Good New York beers too!

My wife went to nursing school near here several years ago. John's has been in operations since 1929...always great food, cold beer and very friendly staff. Thanks

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
