The entire menu looked great - all sorts of delicious Italian sandwiches and a shop of the best Italian items available for home cooking, too. If you are into great sandwiches, this is a spot to hit! Side note: one sandwich could easily be cut into half, if not thirds, as they were almost too stuffed with meats/cheeses!

Just wow! A must. If you're staying in soho or Greenwhich, do whatever you can to eat at this place. The chicken cutlet and prosciutto with pesto and mozzarella is mouthwatering. Make sure you get them to toast it, to get the cheese melting! It is something out of a movie scene, and the guys that work there are fantastic.

This pork store could easily exist in Goodfellas or the Sopranos. It's a REAL Village institution. With great, creamy, cheesy Arancini and Sopracetta. It's not cheep, though it is reasonable for Manhattan. There's no where to sit so if you get one of their sandwiches, you should probably plan to eat in the park nearby (on Carmine and Bleeker). Good value... More

Got chicken parm sub. Very good indeed! A little messy and no where to eat. Suggest to go to the park, grab a bench and chow down. Very close to 5 stars. Try it out.

We visited Faicco's as part of our Original Greenwich Village food tour and tried their really good arancini balls which is like a deep fried risotto ball. They also stock a great range of food and drink and we headed back after the tour to stock up on some goodies and had a picnic in Washington Square park. Our tour... More

What a great place! Temptations galore. Great meat sauce. Great meatballs. Sausages. If great take-out is on your mind - or great fixings for cooking dinner - stop in here. The staff are excellent and soon will guarantee you'll have a great meal.

Based on TA reviews we visited here for lunch during a stroll through Greenwich Village. We decided to share 'The Itallian' which was awesome and plenty enough food for 2. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese and salad and was bursting with flavour and worth every cent. I would love to be a local here and shop every week... More

Every time I'm in NYC I crave one of these. Walked over there for a snack on the hoof and they are as yummy as ever.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
