Went for a weekday lunch with cocktails. VERY fancy inside, part of the Waldorf Astoria hotel. Lunch was nice but expensive. Beautiful bar. I had the Waldorf Salad which was tasty but small by American standards. Was quiet when we went in but was a sunny day outside so most people probably didn't want to sit inside. I imagine would... We came here for my husband's birthday. We reserved a table for dinner. I love the decoration of the restaurant, the chandeliers, sofas and tables give a vintage touch, makes you feel you were in the past performing "mad men" :) The food was great and the service also very kind. For sure one of the tops in Manhattan, looking... More

We happened to stumble upon this beautiful restaurant on our first evening. Just ordered the NY strip, it was cooked to perfection! Super flavoursome & came with a great wine list. The ambiance, the service..first class. Highly recommended. Slightly away from the other commercial ones as its on Lex & 50th. Don't think twice just go. You will want to... More

Dim lighting, beautiful bar, professional staff in tuxedos, jazzy / Sinatra-esque music. Just what you want in a steakhouse. Worth the upgrade from the lobby bars at the Waldorf. The quality of the food was simply fantastic, worth every penny of what you pay for. Outstanding experience, one of the best filet mignons I've ever tasted.

A minor mix-up with dinner plans resulted in my husband and I unexpectedly dining at the Bull & Bear. How glad I am for that mix-up! What a lovely, romantic, elegantly beautiful restaurant! There isn’t a corner of the historic Waldorf Astoria that was overlooked when it was constructed and that opulence can be found throughout this restaurant. Gorgeous mahogany... More

We stayed at the Waldorf on our way back from Boston and we asked about the buffet breakfast. Turns out Oscars has closed and the Bull and Bear was serving breakfast . We were welcomed by the hostess whom I remember from Oscars and were given a lovely table. A lovely buffet was set out and one could choose whatever... More

We actually came to Bull & Bear prior to seeing a Broadway show. The staff was more than accommodating in making sure that we needed to leave by a certain time. They even have a great Show Menu that includes three courses. The place is quite beautiful and romantic. I just have to say that the food within this menu... More

We were staying at the Waldorf Astoria in May this year and ate at the Bull and Bear on our last night as a treat. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
