We ordered 2 dishes , a combination with Kabab of chicken , beef & lamb , as well as the Kabuli Palow ( very tender chunks of lamb with basmati rice , thin strips of carrot , raisins , almonds and pistachios ). We really enjoyed the Palow and recommend it highly . For dessert , we had the Firnee... More

Great food & lovely service, would definitely recommend! We had the mixed kebabs, eggplant starter, fish kebab & rice pudding for dessert - authentic Afgani cuisine!

Great food in a homey and quiet place, in the middle of Manhattan. A unique and tasty experience not too expensive. A great place to spend an evening. The cold tea with cardamon is specifically recommended

Never had afghani food but EVERY bite of EVERY dish was fantastic. Owner is very personable-a but pushy but warms up real fast and adds to the overall experience as he speaks of life, Afghanistan, and the foods of his country. Great atmosphere, wow food, awesome owner, memorable and satisfying experience. My 11 year old loved it too and her... More

This was the restaurant where I went after getting advice from the Food on foot guy. It is a bit out of central parts of New York so I had to walk quite a lot to find it. When I was there (one evening) the restaurant was almost empty – only one table had guests - though it is not... More

If you don't know Afghan food, it has some similarities with Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines - with some twists, such as pumpkin dishes. This place serves up great Afghan food, such as the terrific mantu dumplings, basmati rice pilaf, curries, and kebabs. I've been here several times, never disappointed.

Came here with some friends a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. The owner(?) greeted us warmly and was absolutely hilarious during our entire visit :) I'd never had Afghan food prior to visiting Ariana and now, I have to go back. I'm a vegetarian, and the spinach dish that I had was bursting with flavour. If you're feeling... More

Friends from NYC who frequent this restaurant often invited us to join them during our visit to NYC. We walked to Hell's Kitchen from our Times Square Hotel on a very pleasant day so it was fun checking out the sights along the way. It turned out to be about a twenty minute walk or so.... The owner, Raffi, could... More

randomly stumbled upon this place and I couldn't be happier! the waiter (yes, singular) was cheerful and happy to recommend dishes as well as chat for a few seconds as he was busy helping others. food was tasty and well presented and came quickly. it's a small space, but has a lot of character and has a very homely feel.

Thank adev0

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
