Worth going back, I mean, to try more of the large variety of seafood on the menu. We ate in the wood-panelled bar at the far end - I think they call in the saloon - which was probably the most atmospheric, although you don't...More

We had three very good meals, and two of us were not much fond of seafood. We all found something very tasty to eat. The wait staff are wonderful, and the prices are reasonable. I had the salmon special, and I loved it. Very generous...More

Historic space but not impressed with the service. We had never been before and our sever was not really excited about answering our questions or offering any suggestions. My husband got a bowl of clam chowder that was good. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail...More

We had great hopes for a memorable meal, having eaten there a few years ago ...what a let down! Fish & chips were poor quality - fish was not fresh and was dry and appeared to be cheap cuts of fish. Linguine with prawns -...More

The Oyster Bar at Grand Central is an institute in NYC. My preference is to sit at the oyster bar rather than at a table. This way you get to see the old school staff prepare and serve the fresh specialties in their no nonsense...More

Average, at best. The oysters were lacking that freshness and brine we were hoping for. We ordered oysters, fried whole belly clams and smoked salmon. Of the three, the salmon was easily the best. Tasty and a nice smokey flavor. The clams were over cooked,...More

I love this place. In the home of the commuter trains, set against a classic 60s style, it brings you bit of nostalgia to another time. That said, the oysters are on point! Great selection and great wine pairings! Plus, the fried clams are yummy!

JERRY BRODY WOULD HAVE LOVED THE WAY IT TURNED OUT. One of our out-of-town friends wanted to go for dinner at a seafood restaurant. Go find a seafood restaurant. Thanks Jerry.........the Oyster Bar. Of course, we've not been here since 1980 or so but we...More

Grand Central Oyster Bar is the ultimate experience for any seafood. Lover. From the market to your plate, we've spent nearly a hundred years perfecting our seafood dishes. Every morning, the chef goes to the New Fulton Fish Market to personally pick the day's freshest seafood. Everything from lobster to different kinds of fish is hand-picked for the best flavor and freshness. We're most famous for our oysters though, with over 30 different varieties on any given day. Have your dishes prepared minimally, or choose to have your meal in the form of a po' boy. Whatever floats your boat. To go with your Oysters, our extensive wine list has over 400 wines by the glass or bottle, 55 of which are priced under $38. We love sharing our great seafood, so we like to keep everything, including our prices, accessible. Come in for our Happy Hours (menu on website), where you and your friends can pick up some fresh food and drinks at prices so good it's fishy! Across our restaurant we have more than 450 tables across two dining rooms. Traditional experiences are supplemented by our saloon, which features a large bar. Instead, you could choose to sit at Oyster Bay, where you can watch your Oysters being shucked. The Grand Central Oyster Bar has always been a social experience, bustling with buzz, activity and a rich history. There is truly nowhere else like it!
