Don't miss this historic classic, the chain's original location. Cry into your (locally brewed Brooklyn Lager) beer at the very bar where Johnny Mercer wrote "One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)." Try the Cadillac Burger (so named by Nat "King" Cole). Get there early for dinner during tourist season as there are no reservations. A special... More

We've been coming here for years (my husband grew up in the city) and just like so many places it was better when it was a small local place. They have branched out, but we only come back to the original. Like so many places the prices have skyrocketed, a draft beer and a glass of wine were $25 before... More

Visited from U.K. principally because one of our party is a PJ Clarke. We hadn't booked so couldn't eat but were welcomed to drink beer at the bar and watch( but still not understand) football. To us it felt fun and authentic.

We were a large party but they sat us quickly. Nice atmosphere very traditional but not touristy and great burgers.

We sort of stumbled into P.J. Clarke's by accident. My wife and I walked into the restaurant whose size is deceiving upon first entrance, it looks very small but there is a larger room out back with plenty of seating. The checkered table cloths, wide plank floors and warm lighting were very welcoming. We ordered a couple share plates since... More

Been coming here for over 40 years. Seems to have become something of an institution but the burgers were great and the service fine. If you like eating in historic spots you'll be happy. I was

We came for a week day lunch - had to wait about 15 minutes for a table as the place was bustling! The menu isn't too extensive, but they have a little bit of everything - the prices are high. The Poor rating is because of the service - our waitress took our order ... and then nothing happened. About... More

One star is harsh. It is still a nice traditional bar. But after about 20 years of visiying PJs fo its classic burger the disappointment that it no longer exists was great. The first warning sign was that none of about 6 burgers on the menu did not contain cheese of one sort or another. Now lots, maybe most people... More

We loved the atmosphere, lighting and decoration, very warm and cozy. Service was really good, professional and attentive. Very much recommend the blue cheese burger, delicious and cooked to perfection, I had some calamari as a starter that were overlooked and rubbery. Overall a good venue for dinner, not too pricey and they open till late, so if you are... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
