This is a nice little find in NYC. Food & service was very good. My wife & I both had shared the Arugula salad which was plenty for two. The Rigatoni with sausage & tiny meatballs was real comfort food. My wife had the spaghetti w/oil & garlic which she loved. Both of these are very moderately priced, but even... More

If you lived in East village, you would want to visit Frank regularly. Very unpretentious, not over priced, and an excellent quality meal. Started with one of the biggest burratas I've ever had. Literally, three of us shared the plate. Right amount of "runny" inside, tasty and soft. Served over tasty tomato slices with basil, olive oil and good bread.... More

I went to this restaurant after reading about it in Chrissy Teigen's cookbook. My husband and I were in NYC on our honeymoon. The restaurant was a lot smaller and more urban than I expected, but that atmosphere made it awesome! The place is so small that the wait staff pulls out your table for you to sit because it... I've been coming to Frank for years, always a great meal, one of the first true hidden gems in NYC, but when I made a reservation for 8pm and at 8:45, we still weren't seated, so we left. We were told "5 minutes" starting at 8:20 and ever 5-10 minutes after that. Instead of getting desperate at 845 and telling... More

This has always been one of our go to places for dinner so we thought we would give it a try for Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint! Food and service were amazing as always!

So much fun to eat and make new friends in a town not known for conversations with strangers. Our son had highly recommended this place for the food. We had amazing lamb ragu, black ink linguini with calamari, and burrata salad.Because of the small size of the restaurant and the crowd we shared a table with some really nice people... More

Space is small, reservations advised. Pasta was totally worth it. Service ok. Very loud. Ask for table inside specifically if you want one or you may be seated outside , even on a cool night.

Had red wine and a grappa... it was super, and the bartender was really cool and helpful. It is a bit pricey, but they only have high end products, so I was happy to pay... good place to chill.

Very expensive for what it is, but tasty flavours and sauces. However, portion size is too big so the sauce to pasta ratio is off. Pasta is overcooked as well so a bit sloppy. Everything over salted as well.

Dumpy Italian American food. Not worth the time. A wasted eating experience. Stodgy 'home' made gnocchi. More like unpackaged at home. Meatballs of inconsistent quality and flavour, suggesting multiple batches served in one dish. Stray orchietti amongst the rigatoni. What happened there?

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
