On a recent trip to NYC we had the chance to visit Barbuto on a Sunday evening. The reservation was at 7:00 and we sat down soon after we arrived. We ended up spending nearly three hours eating a most wonderful meal. During this time our water glasses were never empty. We ordered a rose’ and some marinated olives to... More

We walked past this busy buzzy place three nights in a row and it was totally full. Finally got a table, dinner for two on a lovely summers night. We'd already snacked in the Chelsea Market so weren't over hungry. however, the menu was tempting and we find room for the maiale- a square of crispy and perfectly coked pork... More

Nice location near the Whitney and the beginning of the High Line, with excellent service, but really limited menu choices. I had blueberry pancakes (brunch) and the blueberries tasted (perhaps they weren't) as if they had recently been defrosted. Oh, and it took a long time for them to brew some fresh coffee and it wan't so great. My daughter... More

Me and a girlfriend went here for dinner on a Thursday night. It's quite large and centrally located, if you sit outside it's quite lovely. The food was incredibly average though we didn't order the famous chicken, but even if you don't order a particular dish the food shouldn't be boring. The fish was overcooked and the beef was alright... More

Came with a friend's daughter to try out this joint and it turned out well. I asked the captain Lucas what the name was and he said it meant "bearded" in italian and yes,of course he was bearded. Its an open concept restaurant in the meatpacking district with an open kitchen. Service is fast and very accomodating. The starters especially... More

This was our first meal in NYC. Sat outside (had to wait 45 mins, but this was okay as we went for a wonder then had a drink at the bar) as it was quieter than the inside. We were only planning on having a main each as we didn't think we were that hungry. Our host recommended a few... More

I love the location (thats why I'm giving them a 3) it is a nice restaurant BUT the food is just average compared to other brunch places in New York. Bit pricey for what you get. The service is ok.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
