We are Glaswegian and were craving some home-style fish and chips this weekend and were not disappointed after being recommended this place! We both had a regular haddock and chips (single fish and loads of chips!) I couldn't even finish all my chips! The fish...was delicious, the mushy peas were so tasty and I love the generous size of the sauces and peas - no skimming! We even got an Irn Bru and orange Lucazade! We also popped into Carry On Tea and Sympathy which is next door, and got some sweets from home! Glad we found this spot and can't wait to come again, especially as they have outdoor seating with heaters!More

Well we were looking for some authentic British Fish and Chips. A Salt and Battery delivers. This is as good as it gets in the NY tri state area. We loved it and will visit again.

Exceptional fish and chips! Great staff and amazing outdoor seating right on Greenwich Avenue! They even have a little shop to grab snacks and groceries. Truly, a one stop shop.

Expensive ..... but that’s Greenwich and it’s the closest thing to Uk Fish and chips we’ve found so far. Guess the shock of paying 90 bucks for what I could get in uk for 25 quid back home took my breath away but ...... the...food was very very good and the most authentic fish and chips we’ve had in two years of searching ;-) ! Mushy peas were even close to original !! , wish they did British bread so we could have had chip butties as well ;-) will definitely go backMore

Went here as party of four. We all had cod and chips and whilst i dont think it was quite as good we get here in the UK they made a good job of it. The place is very small but this added to a...good experience for us and we liked the effort/decor to make it feel like an authentic British chippy.Service was friendly and efficient. Give it a try.More

Visited following a recommendation from a family member who had visited a couple of years before. We were so excited to visit but sadly very disappointed. The shop itself is tiny with just a few stools and one table,as a party of 8,we filled it....It is grubby and badly in need of a deep clean and a lick of paint. With one server and one cook, service is slow. The food itself was ok ( Ive had better) but was very overpriced..cod and chips will cost you $20, curry sauce/ mushy peas an extra $5.Portion of chips $ 7...over priced and over hyped.More

Great fried cod. The batter was fantastic, crispy and not overly oily and no oily taste. The cod itself was a nice sized piece, flaky, soft, falling apart. In an attempt not to make a mush out of the fish, I asked for a knife,...which helped. Very good tasty-food place but small, very few seats and plastic utensils. Seemed from my short visit that every other customer had a British accent. Must be quite authentic. Worth a return visit for sure.More

Heart-attack food. Greasy, messy, tasty; only place in NY with fish and chips. They used to have a place on the east side; skip it. Get take out in Greenwich Av store and eat it standing up.

This place was highly reviewed, so we had our hopes up. After a botched stay in London, my 7 year old was wanting some good fish and chips. We found this place and got there about 30 minutes before they opened. While we sat outside,...we even heard a guy walk by and tell his friend that this place in the best fish and chips in NYC. We were feeling good about our decision. Once they opened I was a little surprised to find a less than enthused woman working behind the counter. This is the best fish and chips in NYC! Why isn’t she happy?! Idk, but we proceeded to order and got the cod and chips. A few minutes later we had a basket of very hot fish and chips. I was a little underwhelmed. It was good, but it wasn’t great. I’m by no means an expert in the field, but I have had better. If we had been just walking along and found this place, I would have been pleased. But since we sought it out with such high hopes is the only reason I was a little disappointed. Definitely not bad, but don’t expect this to change your life. (:More
