I came here over 8 years ago and was finally back in this part of the city to visit this place again. I seem to remember it being better the last time I was here. The chips were authentic shape/size both times I was here,...More

I found A Salt & Battery just passable for British style fish & chips. I can't understand the high reviews. It's a very small place - think take-out with a few tables and a counter if you want to eat in. Compared to fish &...More

Incredible taste, bery fresh, in a small and well-located shop. Tried both haddock and cod, both good. The portion of fries is generous, so I recommend getting just one for two people.

This was my first experience of a proper fish and chip restaurant in the US. I’m a UK expat living in South Carolina far from the nearest chippy. Fish and chips is one of my most frequently craved items though, so while visiting NY I...More

Firstly, I love the name of this fish shop! It’s a proper English fish shop right down to the battered mars bar! I didn’t have that but I did get my real English fish and chips just like home and she even gave me scraps...More

This is a very small restaurant that's not the easiest to find, but it's worth finding. The food is good, with large generous portions at a reasonable value. Try to visit there in the off hours when it's not so crowded, in order to get...More

Delicious food our first night with the kids in NYC. You can tell why they won the Throwdown against Bobby Flay. I've never been to London but this felt like proper fish and chips to me.

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
