I have eaten at the Barking Dog Restaurant on the upper east side many times in the past and the food was decent. I went a few months ago and the food was very disappointing. I decided to try the restaurant once again last night. What a mistake. We went for dinner and the portion of food was small, the... More

Went downstairs to have our last lunch in NYC before going home. Saturday - crowded with families and couples, yet service was quick and the food good in every way.

Great place on the UES for coffee or breakfast or afternoon snack outdoor seating and quick service. Busy in the afternoon afterschool.

Had lunch Sunday morning. It was packed at 1:00, but luckily they sat us immediately at the bar. Had the spinach-potato dill pancakes and the BDNYC lunch. Great coffee.

Local and good value for money but since it changed hands the service isn't so good. They seem to give preference to their take out customers. Great that your pooch can sit outside in the Summer if you want to take them.

Want a proper full on 3 eggs, bacon, sausage toast or biscuit heart attack on a plate to set you up for a day exploring NYC then look no further. Perfect friendly diner that does exactly what it says on the tin and for a modest price (compared with the mid town options). Emily the waitress was amazing too. Go... More

Had breakfast here several times- the French toast is worth every calorie. Fast, friendly service and they have latte.

Great place for brunch. They don't have a drink inclusive deak but the drinks are reasonably priced. Around $5 for mimosas/bellinis and a delicious spiked coffees for $10ish. The have quite an extensive menu including lots of options for vegetarians! We got 2 varieties of the frittatas which came with a side of home fries and a buttermilk biscuit. The... More

Recently visited this restaurant and really enjoyed it! The food is very well made and definitely comfort food. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and well decorated. I will go again during the summer when I can take me puppy to eat outside, they are very pet friendly (as you can get from the name).

Good food, casual dining and quick service. Terrific for families. Better than a diner, but not expensive. And lots of cute dog pictures and statutes. A family favorite!

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
