My girlfriends and I were looking for something different to do for dinner in New York City. We both love music but Opera had not been on our radar. This place sounded interesting so we decided to try it. Most of the patrons were 40 and up, which was fine with us. The patrons and the staff were delightful! It... More

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant with a great bar and an easy delicious menu. The music is so much fun the singers are fantastic. A must do when you visit New York City.

Caffe Taci is located upstairs from Paillon Bistro an Italian restaurant serving very good dishes which is brought upstairs to those dining at Taci. The highlight here is the endless opera singers who perform throughout the evening & into the early morning hours.

Caffe Taci Opera Nights happen every Saturday night. Upstairs at Papillon - live opera with dinner. Stay as long as you like. Highly recommended. Lots of fun - especially if you have out of town visitors. The food is good, too!

This was such a pleasant surprise with incredible opera singers from places like The Met, La Scala and the piano player is phenomenal at the age of 92 years old! Food very good, service excellent, atmosphere very European and singers are over the top! Don't miss this place and it's good for all ages except children. Reservations are recommended. I... More

There is no better place If you like opera and would like to introduce somebody to this art. You will listen to the first class opera singers in non assuming atmosphere with good food and long wine list. The quaint interior is reminiscent to the old European restaurants. Do not expect huge menu, however. You will have a chance to... More

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Caffe Taci. The food was well-prepared, the service was good, though not stellar. The singers were terrific and the pianist is legendary. I am so glad we found this little gem in midtown Manhattan. The dining room was rather hot and crowded and the diners talked far too loud while the singers were performing.... More

Taci opera night is the best way to enjoy a good dinner (now the group is based at Papillion restaurant) and enjoy the fabulous voices of great opera singers. You need not be an opera connoisseur because the selection of the pieces--some humorous--is of popular pieces and quite short. Add the ancient pianist, a fabulous 90+ y. old woman who's... More

Food was good, atmosphere was delightful. I was there for my birthday and it was a lovely evening. I would go back again and again. The singers are lovely and the pianist is extraordinary.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
