Every time I come to New York then I have to visit this place for breakfast. It's just delicious and I can't knock the service or food over the few years I've come to this city. Once again the food was fresh and hot with coffee strong and amazing. A perfect start to any day.

Stopped here with the kiddos (6&8) on the way into NYC on a Tuesday morning ... so pretty dead, we were able to walk and sit immediately. For us the timing was perfect ... the vibe here is way too trendy for the family. I think probably hard to beat in terms of trendy and fun NYC for couples and... More

Nice atmosphere. Fresh food with quality ingredients. Prices are fair. Wait staff is very good.i had the jarlsburg and mushroom omelette with home fries. The coffee was very good and they have pots of freshly brewed tea. The French toast looked amazing.

Very busy place but food and service were great. Staff were helpful. Toilets were right opposite the food servery which I found a bit unusual from an Aussie standard.

i went to the cupping room cafe for a nice place to eat, drink tea, and work. it's an interesting interior, dark and cavernous looking as you enter with a bright, almost conservatory-style section in the back. i had gluten free buckwheat pancakes which were fine. and then i was a nightmare of a customer, not happy with one pot... Early arrival to NYC and looking for great breakfast food, saw this place on Groupon so decided to check them out. Cute little cafe with a great ambiance and great food. I had the grilled salmon eggs benedict which was delicious and filling, I couldn't finish the whole thing.

Our group stopped here and were happy with our choice. We all had egg items that were tasty. The breads and all the sides did not disappoint. Lovely atmosphere. Would recommend.

Just popped by to have a coffee and dessert. Chose the one called Red Velvet - delicious! Great atmosphere and friedly waiters. The night we were there, there was also a speed dating event for elder people going on in the back part of the café - it was so cute to watch :)

I love the Cupping Room. I first went there over 15 years ago and recently revisited it on a family trip to NY. I'm pleased to report, it's still great. It's a very busy restaurant, seems to be popular for locals after work and family/friends getting together. Great and varied menu. I've previously had a great brunch there too. My... More

The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists.

The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting.

The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.
