Was a fan before as I went a bunch of times to the Upper East Side (3rd Avenue?) location. We stopped by this location after a trip to the nearby Children's Museum. The staff there was friendly, patient and helpful. There is a lot to choose from including some interesting combinations. You'll have a tough time deciding what to get.... More

They have a crazy selection of cones. Wonderful homemade ice cream. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's obviously popular as there are always plenty of people at the shop.

Family and I made our first time visit here at this quaint ice cream parlor! It is very small inside, so know what you want and quickly put your order in! They have variety of homemade cereal, encrusted cones, regular cones, assorted sugar cones, variety of over the top ice cream, sorbet flavors, ice cream cakes and drinks. Perfect for... More

First, the ice cream choices are extensive. Salted caramel chocolate pretzel, peanut butter Oreo, tripping on expression, coffee Oreo low fat yogurt, and the list goes on. But the cones are another story entirely. Selection is wide and includes a large variety with cereal around the top of the cone. I'm a purist liking cones with chocolate sprinkles rimming the top... Stopped in this afternoon after walking around the park and had the Cookie Monster ice cream, a mix of cookie dough and Oreos. It was pretty good. The store front is tiny and you order like you do at the bar but it was worth the minor hassle. Will visit again.

Yummy scrum, this place is a real sweet spot on the famed Upper West Side of Manhattan. Not a chain, just a real delicious neighborhood place with fresh ingredients, creative flavors and a good vibe. MMMM mmmm good on a hot summer night.

Coming from Wisconsin, we are a little bit of an ice cream snob and this place just doesn't have what it really takes when it comes to good ice cream. It is over priced and I had the Coffee Oreo and it tasted like it was freezer burned. The other flavor that was tried was just ok too. I guess... More

I think this place is very over-rated, despite the long lines. The ice cream is good, but certainly not the best available. The shop is very tiny and crowded and the wait staff is neither particularly helpful nor friendly. Next time I'll take a pass.

There are so many other ice cream places in NYC, Emack and Bolio's is definitely not worth going to. The ice cream was okay and the cones were cool, but the staff was extremely insensitive and immature. My 10 yr-old son is extremely allergic to nuts which makes going out at all a hassle, but the staff at this particular... More
