Great Jazz Restaurant

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. I highly recommend the fried peach salad and pink lemonade margarita. Unfortunately, they are losing their lease this month but plan to move to New Jersey.

I was not a fan of this place. I came here with six other people for a friend's birthday brunch. The brunch menu is set at $16/person and they are extremely fickle about that. If you want bottomless brunch drinks it's an additional $6 (which is so cheap) but everyone in the party has to order that which was really... More

Having lost my drivers license very first thing when I arrived in NYC, I came upon the Garage by accident because the cabaret I wanted to visit wouldn't let me in without it. The Garage was across the street so we went inside and I was so glad we did. There was a fantastic jazz band playing, and I ordered... More

You don't have many Sundays left, but you should make the trip into the Garage before they close. Say what you want about rent control, it will be a shame to see this place close. Fantastic staff, wicked good cheesecake, and where can you eat brunch in NY with live jazz for $16.95. You can't. Get there.

As I've been staying in New York over the thanksgiving holidays I'd put a lot of stress and worry into finding a restaurant for thanksgiving dinner. I stumbled on this restaurant and being a little bit over excited by the live jazz and pre fix menu, booked it blind, and I was definately not disappointed. The appearance of the restaurant... More

Staff were friendly, food was awesome! Live jazz was playing...great evening. The music was not too loud, we were still able to have a conversation. Large menu and everyone enjoyed their meals.

Great place for brunch with live jazz. The band plays while you enjoy brunch. Several varieties of Eggs Benedict. All meals are $16.95 + includes one drink. You can order unlimited drinks for one hour for an additional $6.00. We have been here before and we will be back again. Actually we have a reservation for Dec 6th.

Stopped for a bite on the way to the Halloween parade. Mussels were served cold, bread not offered until after we finished eating them. Scallops were rubbery. Cornish hen was not "brick seared to a crispy perfection" it was a soggy mess. Waitress didn't know what entree was what, standing there arguing with the chef who isn't going to tell... More

Our order of pancakes and French toast arrived very fast. It was delicious and the sides were great too (we had egg whites and bacon as well). My wife liked the mimosas which were refilled for free and the location is great. We were also stated very quickly (a two minute wait).

I had brunch here with a couple of friends this past Sunday and absolutely loved it! We all ordered the unlimited mimosas for an additional $6 (everyone at the table has to order unlimited alcoholic drinks, which is kind of a weird policy but wasn't an issue for us). This was a great deal bec/ the waiter refilled our drinks... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
