Great lunch spot, fish and rice always tastes fresh. Shumai are not your standard mini, but more like a dimsum sized dumplings (4). Convenient if you need to find a meal in between lunch and dinner, as they stay opened all afternoon.

Dependable sushi and Japanese food, great service. Gets crowded so make a res on Opentable. There's nothing great in the area so I find myself here a lot for business lunches.

I have eaten at Haru many times through the course of 3 years and the sushi and sashimi is good. There seems to a factory element to the place, it's hard to describe. I can tell you the fish is fresh, and their selection is unique with regards to their specialty rolls, however, it's a bit overpriced, in my opinion.... More

I went to Haru when I visited N.Y.C. The sushi is very good. They don't just have sushi but the teriyaki and fish is good too.

We visited Haru Sushi after attend The Humans Wednesday night. The restaurant was clean, bright, airy, and spacious. Our waiter was prompt and solicitous. The menu consisted of many appetizers, a few salads and entrees, and a variety of sushi, nigiri, and sashimi options. I ordered the saki flight and the chirashi sushi. My partner had the salmon skin hand... More

I will not recommend this place. The food is not tasty and has not much to do with real Japanese food. Got a teriyaki chicken that was just a piece of chicken meat with some industrial sweet sauce on it ...

Wow. Happy hour cheap. Food awesome. Get there before 6. The cocktails made from lychees. Any thing on the happy hour menu. Wow.

Whenever I am in the city and craving sushi, I usually look for my nearest Haru. I've been eating at one of the various Harus for over 20 years, most frequented is the Upper East Side. This time we were in Times Square. It was my second visit to this new location in the Times Square area. I preferred the... More

We went here instead of the Hard Rock. Such a great choice. The sushi roll special was great but the fish taco app was the winner

Made a relatively quick visit to Haru, late afternoon. We were seated immediately, chose the bar, and watched the chefs working with silent concentration. They were friendly when we asked questions. You can order Nagiri straight from them, otherwise it's waiter service. The restaurant is quiet (at least at that time) and elegant, the staff friendly and helpful. Now to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
