We had a disappointing, rushed, unappetizing meal. There was nothing special about the food and I would say the meal was not at all tasty. The service was fair and the front entrance people are a bit arrogant. I would not go back.

I've passed Joe Allen's by for many years - not sure why but I won't any longer. I always thought it was just run of the mill. Not so. The cuisine is standard American - meat an potatoes - with a couple of exceptions. I ordered the escargot and the liver. Both were superb. The escargot was as good as... More

We always visit when in NYC and order the steak tartar. It never disappoints. We had a 10:30 pm reservation for 5 and the place was packed. They booked it for the following week but quickly found a table to accommodate us. Crab and Lobster roll was a hit as was the chicken sandwich. Waitress was excellent. Will return on... More

We enjoyed our supper here. Very good burger and chicken sandwich. Nice room and ambience even though quite quiet when we were there. House red was pretty ropey and couldn't finish it, which is very rare....

Mostly I love the atmosphere and the history of this place. All posters on the wall. Staff is courteous. Dishes are good. A friend brought me there and we spent a beautiful night. It is a place well

Two families...a party of seven enjoyed the service and food at this comfortable restaurant in the theater district. The service was friendly and attentive. Despite the crowd and time of day, we were able to have a leisurely meal without being rushed. The menu offers a variety to accommodate almost anyone's taste and the food was excellent without exception. This... More

Upon entering this highly sought after little spot, we had not a clue you needed a reservation!!! Luckily for us we snagged the only table available. It was a perfect!!!!! It was incredible for people watching and being in the theatre district, there were a variety of people:) the bread and butter practically filled us up. The chicken sandwich and... More

The service was great and the food was really tasty. Menu was good and prices quite high. But huge portions. A good experience.

Joe Allen is a good choice for meeting with friends after a Broadway show. We enjoyed a light fare of escargot and root salads as we discussed the evening show.
