On a 5000 mile road trip up and down the east coast, this is one of the best breakfasts we had. The blueberry pancakes were perfect. Get the maple syrup. We are from the south, and they even did their grits right. Awesome biscuits with homemade apricot butter...so delicious. Our waiter was so friendly, he even sat down and started... More

Kitchenette is a really nice place to get a bite of Southern down-home cooking at a reasonable price. The biscuits are really good, as are the grits. There are also the American breakfast basics on the menu: pancakes, waffles, sausage (turkey sausage if you want) and some healthier options. Not a greasy spoon, kinda more like "health conscious" southern---meaning not... More

Just 6 minutes from Columbia University and 10 minutes from the Aloft, this restaurant on the edge of Harlem was a great find. Julie served the four of us four different dishes: coffee cake (yum), grits & eggs, French toast and a breakfast sandwich. All were delicious and staff pleasant & attentive.

When I worked in the area I tried to visit the Kitchenette for delicious comfort style food. I always loved the Mac and cheese, but Fried chicken, pancakes and wonderful sandwiches are also delicious. That said, the coffe cake, red velvet cake, cupcakes that look like old fashioned Hostess cupcakes have delicious real ingredient filling, cake and icing are wonderful.... More

Wants to be downhome neighborhood joint and succeeds. If only entrees were not so fully priced, acoustics were not so painful, and space so cramped, I would consider going back. But no way under present conditions

We made the trip from Manhatten to find this place after reading loads of reviews and weren't disappointed. Personally my favourite breakfast/ brunch of our 5 day trip. Service is great and food is fab. Loads of choice but great quality still and freshly cooked. Got a menu deal before 11 am if you can make it that early!

Was jam packed on Easter morning, but the line moves fast and they got us in pretty quickly. It's a small place, and tables are packed in about as many as you can imagine. You end up sitting right next to the table adjacent, but that just makes it a chatty, speak to your neighbors kind of place. The chicken... More

My mom just came to visit from LA and we took her to Kitchenette for breakast, and she said it was her 'highlight of the trip' (other than spending time with her son aka me LOL)! It was tasty, a fun environment, and overall satisfying!

This little place was such a great find. The food was over the top good. we ate their for breakfast twice and loved both times. They have fantastic sausage and pancakes with real maple syrup. The coffee was excellent and the egg dishes available were delicious and unique. Please don't miss this place. If you are not close, it is... More

Try the garden scramble. The eggs were cooked perfect! You can get it with a garden salad (yes!), home fries or grits. The grits and salad were great. Biscuit was a little dry, but the homemade butter that came with it was excellent. The atmosphere is super chill with a hip diner feel. Wait staff were fun and efficient. Didn't... More
